Mitt Romney: ‘Michigan is a state we can win'
ABC News ^ | June 19, 2012 | Holly Bailey

Mitt Romney just felt like chatting.

Just after wrapping up his final event in Iowa on day four of his five-day bus tour through battleground states, the Republican nominee briefly made an appearance in the back of his campaign plane to chat up reporters as he prepared to fly to his home state of Michigan for a final day of events.

"When we land, you'll look around and see all the trees are the right height," Romney joked, making fun of a line he frequently used while he was campaigning in Michigan during the GOP primary.

But Romney was cautious about his chances in the state, where polls show him in a close race with President Obama.

"Do I think I have a chance of winning? Who knows in these early stages, but I think Michigan is a state we can win," the Republican nominee said.

Asked what a win in the state would mean to him personally, Romney smiled and replied, "If I win in Michigan and then I become president, and that would mean a lot to me." …

The entire upper Midwest will be the Kenyan’s undoing.

MI, WI, OH, IN will seal the deal.

Yes maybe VA & NC too.

Problem is that if places like NV, CO, NM go red they can’t take any credit because 270 may have already been hit!

If Mr. Obama loses Michigan, he has almost no chance of winning.

I like your comment 2ndDV, not just for the content, but for the structure, i.e., "Mr 0bama", I cannot express how disgusting it is to me when I see conservatives automatically default to calling that Kenyan sonuvabitch 'President' and acknowledging a title that he is not entitled to have, either legally or morally. The 0bamunist Ministry of Information (aka the MSM) lavishes that little bastard with 'President' and every other glorifying description they can get away with, I'd like to see every FReeper refuse to follow suit, so thanks for saying exactly what I think all the time.

We have observed a couple of local news reporters who call him Mr. Obama and never fail to get a chuckle.

Especially since we all know that the majority of the lamestream media desperately want to genuflect and pay oral homage on their knees to 'The Superior Intellect'.

Mittens has his work cut out there. The latest Ras poll has him getting schwacked by 8%.

The feral creatures that scurry about in the ruins and other untamed warrens of Detroit, and swarm to Cobo Arena at the sight and smell of “0bama munny,” control that state`s future. The civilized population in other locales had better turn out in huge numbers to counterbalance it.

Why should I jeopardize my soul to replace a pro-abort
with a pro-abort?

Obama and Romney, pray for their conversion.

These threads, everything is just fine, no, it isn’t.

pray for a miracle, it will happen,

You and your soul seem to be facing a dilemma that few of us are finding. I certainly have no problem with replacing Obama, who voted FOR killing babies that survive abortions, with Romney, who has pledged a pro-life agenda. Anyone who thinks these positions are identical is completely out of touch with reality. Give it up!

Good point but I'm not sure he's a "mister" either.

Michigan is the single state I am most interested in seeing the results of on election night. If we win that, it offsets so much. Florida is still a must, but assuming those two things happen the map looks amazing for us.
