Obama Rex: The Presidency is Dead, All Hail the King

Posted on 06/18/2012 9:49:11 PM PDT by tsowellfan

If one man is allowed to singlehandedly change the law for 800,000 people in a way that he never could have achieved through the constitutional legal process, and he remains unchallenged, we are no longer living in a constitutional republic.

With President Obama’s granting of de facto amnesty to young illegal immigrants through executive order, he has completely thrown out the Constitution and for all intents and purposes made himself a king in all but name.

Not only that, but he has made himself the worst kind of king — a tyrant. Tyrants are those rulers who place themselves above the law.

For even kings in most of Western history were subject to the law. Obama has made it obvious he feels no such restraint.

This has been in the works for some time. Many of us saw the train coming down the tracks long ago, but many Americans are just waking up this morning to the idea that their country is fundamentally changed. Many more amazingly remain asleep.

Change is what Obama promised and what he’s delivering. Is it really what Americans thought they were voting for? This president has been ruling by decree for the past several years, and his executive orders, when studied as a whole, have a clear (to some of us) and alarming direction.

So far President Obama has signed a total 128 Executive Orders since the start of his presidency.

Below is a list of executive orders from President Obama.

Beyond the usual functional orders, many of Obama’s orders show a definite trend toward bypassing Congress whenever possible and deepening involvement of the Executive Branch in local affairs. Some of the more suspect executive orders are:

Executive Order 13609 – Promoting International Regulatory Cooperation — Circumvents constitutional process of treaty negotiation and Senate approval. Appointed presidential policy panel is to consider changing U.S. trade regulations to match laws in foreign countries.

Executive Order 13603 – National Defense Resources Preparedness — Updates previous order. In peacetime or times of national emergency, heads of Agriculture, Energy, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Defense and Commerce can take food, livestock, fertilizer, farm equipment, all forms of energy, water resources, all forms of civil transportation and any other materials, including construction materials from wherever they are available.

Executive Order 13575 – Establishment of the White House Rural Council — Authorizes a Rural Council to exert control over “agricultural organizations, small businesses, education and training institutions, health-care providers, telecommunications services providers, research and land grant institutions, law enforcement, State, local, and tribal governments, and nongovernmental organizations regarding the needs of rural America.”

Executive Order 13544 – Establishing the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council — Creates a council that includes the Secretary of Homeland Security and is charged with creating a policy to “achieve national wellness, health promotion, and public health goals, including the reduction of tobacco use, sedentary behavior, and poor nutrition.” Sounds innocuous, but consider New York City’s current efforts to ban certain foods. Do you want Uncle Sam determining your menu?

Executive Order 13503 – Establishment of the White House Office of Urban Affairs – This exceptionally vague order creates an office designed to interfere with and influence policies of city governments in undefined ways by coordinating with federal agencies.

The ball right now is in Congress’ court. It’s up to the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, to lead the fight.

If Obama gets away with his amnesty by executive order, he will have proved that there is no one who can stop him. He has in place all the legal framework he needs to crack down on dissent and prevent any possible physical resistance. All he need do is declare a national emergency, and his administration has set up several potential “crises” that could precipitate such a declaration.

If it comes to that, there will be no one but us average citizens to stand up for freedom.

Didn’t Jimmy Carter, through Executive Order, pardon all Vietnam deserters? Of course we had Democrats in charge of both the House and Senate at the time.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

I heard Rubio as he was say on Hannity this afternoon that he believes what Obama did is unconstitutional. Of course he was busy pushing his book.

If these guys swear an oath and they are running around saying this is unconstitutional...

What can we do about all those elected do-nothing critters scampering around Capitol Hill, getting paid well to do nothing but harass sports folk and push their books?

Surely we can do more than vote them out. Can we sue our gov’t? Fire them? They are NOT doing their job. It isn’t just Obama—it is almost every single turd up there. Worthless!

Runaway, runaway, my little gutless wonders up on the Hill.

It is sickening, isn’t it? It almost seems they head into politics to become rock stars. I suppose it is partly our fault, too...we clamor to them like heroes.

Our country is falling apart and many of them are jetting around at our expense (Biden and Panetta go home on the weekends). Many will be doing their book tours and signings. It is insane.

Politics seems to be all about the politician, his ego, wants, desires and not the governing of this country. We pay them so that that can sit up there get connections and exposure for personal gain.

It is time for the non-sense to end.

I would disagree with the author on a single point. The ball isn’t in Congress’s court - they’re worthless and refuse to pick it up.

The ball is in our court now and I don’t meant voting for Romney as the solution.

That’s why I don’t often listen to Sean Hannity. I only listen when something important is going on and I was disappointed with Sean’s pushing of the book as much as I was Rubio.

Let’s see Rubio go on Levin’s show. Then I’ll be interested.

I turn on patriot at 5am CST and usually click it off when Hannity comes on and then back on for Levin. Or Levin on my computer.

I was busy today and never got around to clicking Hannity off—I did click him off before the interview finished. I find Hannity boring.

Can someone tell us if this immigration pronouncement is an impeachable offense?

Obama didn't change the law for 800,000 people.

He changed the law for over 300 million American citizens and around 20 or 30 million illegals inside the USA right now.

And when he changed the law he he put out the welcome mat for millions of future illegals now heading for the USA to get in on the amnesty they know is coming soon.

Republicans have to put a stop to his madness or the deluge of illegals will add enough voters to the democrat party to give them a permanent majority in every future election.

In case you haven't noticed the FOX is all in for Rubio as VP.

I find Hannity boring.

Surely you don't think the constant harping on the same three talking points is boring? Beside he washed dishes as a kid and drives a hybrid.

FOX is unwatchable without a DVR, upgrade your service, it is a small price to pay for the beauty of fast forward.

Actually, presidential pardons are specifically allowed for in the Constitution.

Republicans have to put a stop to his madness or the deluge of illegals will add enough voters to the democrat party to give them a permanent majority in every future election.

And worse the flooding of this nation of too many changes our own culture. It turns the melting pot into a chunky soup making our own culture unrecognizable.

The liberals try their best to shame us because of our culture. We should be ashamed of ourselves for our culture. That's what the kids are taught in our schools. It's okay for the Mexicans to wave their flags in Mexico but it's not okay for us to wave our flag.

You know why they think like that? Because the liberals are racists. They actually believe that America is WHITE and the white man because he is the superior race (their belief not mine)we are more advanced and we actually tricked them into giving us the Southwest because the Mexicans are so stupid (again their belief not mine). So, like the muscleman who makes his muscle in front of the wimpy skinny dude we smart white people look just as mean when we wave the "white power" American flag to those poor stupid inferior non-white people south of the border.

The left think of non-whites as stupid, helpless and vulnerable. That's why they want them in the United States. To pay them pennies and slave as they did the African slaves back in the 1800s.

Statements like "They do the work that Americans will not do" - (how insulting to the non-whites) or "You want to pay $5 for a head of lettuce?" In other words, if we don't pay these stupid non-white idiots less than the going rate you will have to pay more for your food.

The left is no friend of the Latino. They are no friend of the black American. And this is how we need to approach such issues.

Illegal Immigration is the modern day form of slavery. Only difference is we don't go get them we keep the doors open, throw down some pennies and they come to us.

Really fixing Immigration is:

NO more work VISAs to anybody (except exchange students)

Secure the borders

Streamline VISA applications because it really is too slow and takes way too long for trusted tourists to get VISAs

And as far as immigrants wanting to come and live here it's going to be like the olden days.

You must be able to support yourself - no Social Security, no welfare, nothing from the government. If you fall, and have no family to help. You either get back up or you go back home.

Conservatives have much more faith in immigrants than liberals and it's time to start respecting them and not baby them like the liberals do.

That's the message!

"Surely we can do more than vote them out."
I believe the Constitution provides the remedy. It is called impeachment.
