North Carolina teacher who berated student over Obama criticism to keep job

The North Carolina high school teacher whose rant against a student who questioned President Obama went viral will keep her job.

The Salisbury Post reports that Tanya Dixon-Neely was suspended without pay, but that she will return to school next year. As a condition of her return, she reportedly will be required to start what was described as a "monitored growth plan."

Superintendent Judy Grissom said in a statement that the teacher fell short of the school system's standards, but expressed a desire to move on from the incident.

"While I remain deeply concerned about the performance documented in the recording of Ms. Dixon-Neely's classroom, I have concluded that she should have a chance to improve her teaching skills," Grissom reportedly said.

What a bottom-feeding state NC must be! First, the story of the government hack who told the little kindergartener that her mother packed an unhealthy lunch for her...and then made the child eat those cardboard chicken mcnuggets for nutrition. Now this affirmative action cretin who is obviously unfit to teach anywhere can keep her job abusing students, because NC must really be that desperate to staff its schools.

Whatever the citizens of that state are paying for this sort of defective government, it’s way too much.

I went to a very nice, new high school in Raleigh. They bussed in “Amish” kids from the downtown area. The school rapidly turned to crap. Same thing happened with another nice, new high school in North Raleigh. It went from safe, new, nice, solid to regular cafeteria brawls in a matter of a year or two.

she should have a chance to improve her teaching skills

It's not her "teaching skills" that's the problem.

As quoted from the original article: "She received two formal classroom observations before the recording in May, both positive."

Like they expected her to have an outburst when she knew she was being observed? What dummies these people are. I'm sure this wasn't the first time she's spoken that way to a student. It's just the first time she was caught on a recording doing it. They can try to modify her classroom behavior any way they want, but 10 to 1, she'll repeat this type of outburst at some point in the future, and hopefully another student will capture it.

If they don’t fire her for being a half-witted, poorly educated loon, there is something seriously wrong with the school. Get your kids out of there now.
