C.I.A. Said to Aid in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition

WASHINGTON A small number of C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey, helping allies decide which Syrian opposition fighters across the border will receive arms to fight the Syrian government, according to American officials and Arab intelligence officers.
The C.I.A. officers have been in southern Turkey for several weeks, in part to help keep weapons out of the hands of fighters allied with Al Qaeda or other terrorist groups, one senior American official said. The Obama administration has said it is not providing arms to the rebels, but it has also acknowledged that Syrias neighbors would do so.
By helping to vet rebel groups, American intelligence operatives in Turkey hope to learn more about a growing, changing opposition network inside of Syria and to establish new ties. C.I.A. officers are there and they are trying to make new sources and recruit people, said one Arab intelligence official who is briefed regularly by American counterparts.
American officials and retired C.I.A. officials said the administration was also weighing additional assistance to rebels, like providing satellite imagery and other detailed intelligence on Syrian troop locations and movements.
The administration is also considering whether to help the opposition set up a rudimentary intelligence service. But no decisions have been made on those measures or even more aggressive steps, like sending C.I.A. officers into Syria itself, they said.

The RATs know their ship is going down but before they jump overboard they intend to do as much damage as they can.

We're supporting the al-Qaeda surrogates?
OK, then let me make a first for FR.
Go Russia!!! Kick the USA in the butt!! Send those military supplies and help protect the Syrian Christians!
There, I said it.

We’ll be treated to articles later telling us that 90% of the guns found after killings in Syria are American-made, so our 2nd Amendment rights must be voided.

This bastard pos president seems to get his kicks from killing anyone who is trying to protect our country whether it be CIA, a Pakistani whistleblower or border agents. He needs to go -—NOW. It will be too bad if we even have to wait until Nov.

Poison Photo-Drop .. decision to release photographs .. will imperil nation .. its defenders.
Before he is done I fully expect him to release the names, addresses and phone numbers of anyone anywhere in the world who has ever provided any information to agency workers.
The damage to US intel will last multiple generations.
I will refrain from making any comments or speculation about self-preservation instincts of wet work operatives.

There are no good guys here, but Obama is supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and other transnational Islamists. The Christians and other minorities in Syria will be slaughtered if the Syrian government falls.

I don't understand why we don't just let ALL the arms cross the border into Syria,
especially if they end up in the hands of AQ. That way, when they show up at the scene of terroristic attacks, we can trace them to the leaders of AQ.

Let's just tell our enemies exactly where our CIA operatives are and what they are doing! /sMaybe they could pass out brochures with their names and faces to make it a little more obvious. Why stop at location and operations?
If Oboma is going to use U.S. intelligence for his campaign, why not do it right and go all the way? If a few members get killed, Oboma could look REALLY brave.

This means we are at war with Syria.
Russia and others are free to support the other side with what it needs.

Nothing helps out the Syrian opposition like sabotaging the formerly secret operation supposedly designed to assist them by leaking the details to the ever eager beavers at the NYSlimes.
The WH strikes another blow for freedom. I wonder if this manages to get any agents killed? Who cares? As long as Zero looks "tough." It's interesting that this story should appear only a couple of days after Putin gave Zero a dressing down over Syria. Gee, I wonder if this is just another one of those remarkable coincidences.

1. "Yeah we made Stuxnet with Israel.."
2. "Yeah we averted the airliner bombing with our AQ INFORMANT" (the guy was still in place, effective and his cover was blown...also he was a BRITISH asset and Obama didn't know jack s*it about him)
It's IMPOSSIBLE for me to believe Obama didn't intent Fast and Furious, in view of all this.
When Obama's political ambitions involve a risk of death to others, he has NO PROBLEM WITH IT.
