Still don’t see responsible politicians (or very few) in DC. Boehner ain’t one of them.
Voters elected Democrats. The Republicans all could have been wonderful saints and it wouldn't have made any difference.
Of course politicians are more corrupt than other people -- they have more temptations -- but in some ways they reflect the people who elect them. In terms of character we aren't the country we once were, and politicians reflect that.

Context matters -- what you compare with what. Politicians fall short of what we'd like them to be, so we complain about them on the Internet. If they behaved like people do on the Internet, they'd be even worse, and we'd have more to complain about. Politicians may be timid, but if they had anonymity and could say anything they wanted to without being held accountable for it, it wouldn't make things better.
