I suspected that Sandusky was very possibly guilty when I heard that he had no children of his own...for a big brave macho football player like that, it just seemed odd...

I take a bit of offence at that statement. Just because a man or a woman has perhaps a medical infertility problem doesn’t mean that the man is any less of a man or some sort of pervert or gay or that the woman is any less of a woman or a “cold fish” in the sack as I’ve sadly heard some (not here per se, but in general and sadly in my own experience) presume.

My uncle and his wife were unable to have children after many years of trying. I don’t know the cause of their inability to conceive, I never asked them, but my uncle was not, is not any less of a man. He and his wife are devout Christians and live as they believe. They adopted two beautiful kids who were loved and raised right and now as adults with kids of their own, are grateful to have had such great parents. One of my cousins and her husband ironically had their own infertility problems and she and her husband adopted two bi-racial children, then she got pregnant and then they decided that they were so blessed and in a financial and emotional position to do so, they adopted another child, a special needs child and they are a beautiful and loving family.

My husband and I were unable to have children as well and believe me it wasn’t due to a lack of trying or my husband’s or my lack of “interest” in bed or a lack of his manliness, bravery or machismo. Our diagnosis was tricky – he had a slightly reduced sperm count but not enough to definitely rule him as the cause of our inability to conceive. I passed all my infertility tests with flying colors until a rather vague diagnosis of a hormonal imbalance from a blood test performed by an infertility specialist that my regular GYN thought was rather questionable. In the end, our inability to conceive was considered “idiopathic”, i.e. unknown cause. I’m well past the age now for having children, we didn’t adopt but I have 10 great nieces and nephews who are the joy of my life.

I get what you are perhaps trying to say with respect to a man, a pedophile, a homosexual pedophile marrying a woman as a cover and adopting children as a means to molest them. But please don’t assume or make the broad generalization that a man who cannot get a woman pregnant is automatically some sort of Jerry Sandusky or that a couple who can’t have children are somehow morally or sexually defective or perverse.

Unfortunately this sort of attitude and the Jerry Sandusky’s of the world plays right into the hands of the anti-male radical feminists. Not all men who adopt children are child molesters. Not all men who don’t have children of their own are child molesters. Not all men walking their dogs in the park who smiles and says hello to a cute kid is a child molester. Not all older men who are alone in the children’s section of Barnes and Nobles is a child molester. Not all men who are not athletic and macho are child molesters. Not all men who are athletic and macho are rapists.

/End of rant.
