Comedienne Joy Behar made a truly revolting observation Thursday about gay Republican group GOProud's endorsement of Mitt Romney for president.
Substitute-hosting for Eliot Spitzer on Al Gore's Current TV, Behar asked her gay guests, "Could it be that the GOProud guys are just attracted to Mitt Romney's sons?"
JOY BEHAR, HOST: Do you think Romney will ever get the gay vote? I don't think he’s going to get it any way.
HOWARD BRAGMAN, REPUTATION.COM: No, I don’t, unless his sons do a spread in GQ shirtless, and then I think it’ll be fine.
BEHAR: Could it be that the GOProud guys are just attracted to Mitt Romney's sons Matt, Mutt, Tag, Tip, Tack, and Bashful? Do you think that's the issue?
BRAGMAN: I would love a magic underwear photo shoot. I think we could…
BEHAR: What is that, anyway? Haven't they seen “The Book of Mormon?” They call themselves gay and they haven't been to “The Book of Mormon?” Unbelievable.
This is wrong on so many levels.
First, Behar and her guests were diminishing the intellectual capacity of gay men by suggesting they'd throw their support behind a candidate out of mere attraction. That doesn't seem to be a very tolerant liberal position, does it?
Far more important was the disrespect being paid to Romney's children.
Imagine for a moment Malia and Sasha Obama were over the age of eighteen, and conservative commentators on Fox News for example discussed the two of them doing "a spread in GQ shirtless."
The Left and their media minions couldn't ask for apologies and repercussions quickly enough.
But as we've seen in the past two election cycles, mocking the children of Republican candidates even in a sexual way is completely acceptable.
That now includes gay jokes directed at Romney's sons.
She is a truly revolting human being.

It is NO coincidence that ‘Behar’ is an anagram for ‘Rehab’, which is where that diseased skank ought to be for the rest of her oxygen-wasting days.
Ummm... she wasn't talking about "gay men" in general (who usually oppose Mitt Romney whether they're physically attracted to him or not), she was talking about the membership of GOProud. That's the successor organization to the Log Cabin Republicans. The Log Cabin "Republicans" very publicly stated they would OPPOSE Bush's re-election. The Log Cabin crowd was accused of being a Democrat front group for years, then when they finally exposed as such, they decided to rebrand themselves "GOproud" to get rid of the baggage associated with the Log Cabin name. Despite claiming to be "gay conservatives", a quick reading of their platform will tell you they're liberal on a whole host of issues (not just gay rights) and they make it explicitly clear their whole purpose to get the GOP to appeal to gays but adapting their agenda, not the other way around. (they are a "gay rights" organization first and foremost) They only endorse Republicans who cater to them.
Given those facts, I can think of only two reasons why GOProud is vocally supporting Romney over Obama:
1) They know his "better than Ted Kennedy for gay rights" stances from the 1990s, and believe he'll govern that way, rather than the recently adapted "conservative" positions he's taken on traditonal marriage.
2) They've met Mitt Romney (and his male family members) and find them to be "personally" appealing and people they'd enjoy spending time with.
Make what you will of it.
There’s a third possibility: they know that Obama won’t get reelected, so they want to jump on the bandwagon of the next president in the hopes of being able to call in chits later on.
