I somewhat agree with you, but I believe that the right to bear arms is a God-given right and not merely a license granted by a benevolent government. Thus, I believe Mexicans have a God-given right to bear arms and I see nothing wrong in helping them to secure and exercise that right by furnishing them arms.

They didn't "furnish firearms to law abiding Mexicans", they sold guns to drug cartels in the hopes they could tell the American people that the USA was supplying guns(without revealing the governments part in it)to the cartels and force the legislature to pass more gun control laws. It didn't work because they got caught when Brian Terry and another agent were killed with some of the weapons, they also killed hundreds of Mexican nationals with the same illegal weapons our government sold to them.

I understand what you’re saying, but their plan would not have worked if the American people were reminded that it is good thing that Mexicans have guns. Mexicans, too, have a God-given right to bear arms.

We should make it easier and not harder for arms to be sold to the people of Mexico.
