I hear you, but most malls ban weapons, and as private property, they are allowed to do so. I am not allowed to carry in most malls in Oregon, even though I have an Oregon CHL. Also, unless one of the punks pulled a weapon and stopped to approach and threaten you, you would most certainly go to prison for using any deadly force against them.

Most laws only require you to have "reasonable fear" for your life or major injury in order for deadly force to be justified. They don't stipulate the perp has to be armed. I'd say a pack of feral animals charging and threatening violence to your person is grounds to open fire......as being severely outnumbered definitely adds weight to your argument you were reasonably in fear for your life.
