"Lead and copper do not give off sparks." No they don't, but I wouldn't put it past some idiots to shoot tracers into dry brush...I've seen it happen...on ranges where tracers were expressly forbidden.

Lead and copper do not give off sparks. Sparks don't start fires unless surrounded by lots of kindling, and as any good boy scout knows, even this is not an especially easy way to achieve ignition.

bullet hit a rock and sparked the fire It seems the BLM stooges bought into the Hollywood notion that bullets spark. I hadn't thought through the gun control angle when this started in earnest with the First Blood series.
