So the only options given to cut were entitlements and defense? Is that the only thing which costs government money?

How about options to do away with the EPA? DOE? Reform the tax code and drastically reduce the IRS? Reduce or eliminate any number of government programs?

I wonder what the outcome would be then?

But of course, Frum won’t ask those questions though because he’s a hack.

Yes, taxes and fees that people don’t even notice.
Had to go to emergency room 18 months ago - turned out to be nothing - but when I got my bill, I noticed NY State added a 9% surtax.
The SOBs would steal the pennies from a dead man's eyes.

You must favor massive cuts in defense spending.

IBITZ!

Tea Party didn’t even come into existence until after Obama got elected. Nice try, troll. See ya...

We're broke because of over-spending. This isn't rocket science. And more than half of that spending is unconstitutional.

Want to fix it? Stop all spending that is outside the Enumerated Powers.

That would solve most of the problem right there, before you even start to analyze the advisability of spending on things that may be constitutional but that aren't needed.

While we’re at it, we need to stop spending overseas.

I understand the need for overseas spending to bring down our unions, but it has become destructive and counter-productive.

From this point, we should be re-introducing manufacturing to America.

Not sending it to CHINA.

I worked for T-Mobile for five years and one of my internal clients was the Tax Department.

Don’t get me started about cell phone taxes. GRRRRRR!

Yes, that’s right. Fortress America pretty much sums up my foreign policy stance. Fully in keeping with George Washington’s advice to us, I might add. We are uniquely situated geopolitically for that. We should leave the rest of the world to their respective fates. May they fare well, but we all know it very probably won’t go well for them. But that’s not my problem. The entire lot of them isn’t worth a single American life or a single penny of US taxpayer money. Any attack on the United States should be answered with force so overwhelmingly violent that Genghis Kahn would vomit at the thought. We’d only have to do that once a century or so to be left alone in peace. It would work, and we Americans would all be richer and more secure. The price would be paid by the rest of the world, but they don’t like us anyway, and the truth be told I don’t particularly care for them either.

Absolutely nothing. Those programs are drops in the bucket compared to the entitlement systems. Eliminating every single one would do jack spit! Did you not notice the chart at the top of this thread?

According to the poll Frum cited, GOPers aren't interested in cutting them or the national defense budget or raising taxes. You follow why this is a bad state of affiars?

“Tea Party didn’t even come into existence until after Obama got elected.”

Which is the point being made. Curious how all those upset folks kept their yaps shut when an “R” was proposing TARP, CFR, billions for AIDS in Africa...

Those of us calling out Dubya for his big government nonsense sure could have used their help back then.

"From this point, we should be re-introducing manufacturing to America."

I would like to produce something useful in a small shop in the middle of nowhere, USA. But I won't do so, until the county zoning ordinance ("law," they call it) against small, new manufacturing shops is gone.

NIMBYs, NIMBYs everywhere. Most of 'em are the pensioned, bipartisan eyes and ears of local government regulators, and they don't allow anyone to build a home or small shop. IMO, the coming bond collapse and repudiation of government debt will shut 'em up. They use their excessive money and time for anti-American, anti-family politics in most locales.

They prevent domestic American competition against foreign interests owned by anti-American Americans. And yes, we need new people in business and government. Third or fourth generation, spoiled rotten, socially unhealthy tyrants won't get us anywhere good.

Many, many were. You weren’t paying attention if you didn’t see that.

When the TEA Party did crystalize - during the summer of 2010 when Obamacare was being rammed down our throats - the majority of protests and “scenes” were at Democrat congressman / senator town halls. This is because not a single republican endorsed or voted for Obamacare. If one had - say one of the idiots in Maine - they’d have gotten the same anger vented at them.

Now that it does exist, you can make no mistake - The TEA Party got rid of plenty - and will get rid of more - RINO big spending Republicans but the biggest must is to get rid of Obama.

“Many, many were. You weren’t paying attention if you didn’t see that.”

Sources please. It sure as heck wasn’t on FR - land of the Daily Dose threads.

“Now that it does exist, you can make no mistake - The TEA Party got rid of plenty - and will get rid of more - RINO big spending Republicans but the biggest must is to get rid of Obama.”

Odd you say that. The GOP just steamrolled over the Tea Party by nominating a RINO big spender - Romney!
