Check out latest 5 Day forecast.
Over Florida until Saturday. We'll be wet all week.
I doubt we’ll be wet all week. The storm is breaking up pretty significantly. I’m in north Pinellas and while we got slammed yesterday (Sunday), it’s been dry and windy today (dry being a relative term).
The center of circulation will pass over the center of the state, but there doesn’t appear to be enough convection to keep the rain pumping in.
Over 8 inches of rain in the last 24 hours and up to another 10 in the next 24.
Tampa is tired of Debbie already.
BTW, Gubermint Weathewr Bureau had storm going to Texas.
The Cedar Key landfall analysis was a beautiful call....just another reason FR rules! BRAVO!
GFS is the most historically accurate computer modeling, and they’ve had it heading N to NE the whole time. UKMET and others are generally joke guidances and account for “slop,” as I’ve heard forecasters call it.
I can’t figure out how they got agreement on more than one guidance that it was going toward Texas. There’s a front coming down the Appalachians that will affect the movement. They just don’t know how far north it’ll go before it breaks east.
“BTW, Gubermint Weathewr Bureau had storm going to Texas.”
I saw that too. It’s like Debby suddenly made a 90 degree turn to the north. I found that odd to see such a dramatic shift in its direction.
My brother lives near St Pete Beach. He says it’s been raining a lot.
I was looking at an online copy of the Tampa Tribune yesterday and they said Florida needs the rain.
BTW, Gubermint Weathewr Bureau had storm going to Texas.”
Actually they were correct. But it wasn’t Debbie they were talking about, it was the result of the SCOTUS decision on illegals.
As is almost always the case, a taxpayer supported entity gets it wrong again.
Why in the world is the federal government operating an agency to forecast weather in the first place? Not only is the concept anachronistic with superior services run by private enterprise, but NOAA has a totally transparent agenda to push the myth of global warming.
There are a number of needless federal agencies that need to be shuttered. Obviously the EPA is near the top of the list but NOAA should likewise be among them. Joe Bastardi (now of WeatherBell) is far more trustworthy than a gaggle of government goons.
Im in Tally and it ain’t gonna get better..

Do you by chance know two of my Vietnam-era favoritss
“Suddenly
I’m not half the man I used to be
My left arm’s hanging in a tree
Oh, I beleive... in RPGs.”
Then there is the classic “Napalm Sticks To Kids,” but I won’t go into that here.
There are several rotational signatures in the Wakulla county area up there, but if you look at the latest radar loop, there is still a pretty definitive area of rotation out over the NE Gulf.
It’s really a matter of opinion at this point, as there’s no real convective eye. This is more an surface low than a true tropical storm.
