Dedicated scrutiny of more than just food stamp records is needed to find fraud. Laws already exist that exclude those who sold their benefits from getting more benefits for either a certain time period or forever. And lying about income to get benefits is a crime. What’s wanting is not the laws but the enforcement of same.

(1) In the original, this quotation is talking about church polity. My quotation is a proverb which IS general.
(2) Generally stamp beneficiaries are involuntarily unemployed or badly underemployed. Others would have to lie about their income which is already deemed a crime.

Cutting out the multi generation upon generations cycle of foodstamps would eliminate gazillion$. Limiting them to 1 year per US citizen would solve even more of the problem.

I once worked in the same office as the food stamp office. The secretary had been there for year and years. One day she picked up her purse and walked out. She never came back and I don’t blame her. She’d had it handing over more in benefit checks than what she was making in her paycheck.

Costco/Walmart/Aldi/etc knows where their bread is buttered.

they’d never not accept EBT or knowling help anyone who might shine a light on food stamp fraud.

this is what you get with business in bed with FedGuv Inc.

Thank you. I’m in NYC, have a friend in dire circumstances whose husband went crazy, it seems, and abandoned her, left her destitute. She lost everything. I’ve been helping her, and that’s how I know how rough it is.

That’s how it worked back in the 30’s. Except nothing got delivered, you walked (if you had to) ever how many miles it was to the local town to get your sack of “relief”. Can goods, dried meat, potatoes, flour, corn meal and the like. No money, just food to prevent starvation.

Now, it’s possible to live a pretty darn good life suckling at the taxpayer teat. Plus, you have sooo much time to be about birthing those welfare babies. A husband or father isn’t necessary, just this or that man for a night or two and nine months later your various ‘allowances’ get raised.

It’s like that video song says “All you gotta do is f***, nine months later you get the bucks.”

No problem, it is confusing, and I’m sure there’s exception, exemptions, and on and on. I’m sorry to hear about your friend, that’s really a shame. I wish all the best to you and yours, and her and hers. Take care.

It is really ironic that the left is all for population control; abortions, birth control, same sex marriages... yet, they are making it so easy for the birthers (true birthers) to spit out the welfare babies like they were a factory. I don't get it.

I know the also want to bankrupt the system, so that is the main reason they do this, but it is counter productive to their primary directive of reducing population and man's burden on Mother Gaia.
