All too true....
EBT cards are today’s soup kitchens - and they’re probably far more abundant.
Forgot one thing. There are 200 million (+) armed American patriots in the equation this time around.
Both good points. Yep.
>Neither Russia nor China would be unhappy to see the greatest capitalist democracy in the world fall into ruin.”<
.
With a little help from their friend in the WH, the American Baath Party and the MSM, Russia and China will get their wish soon enough.
The author warns that the present time “has the look and feel of the 1930s and ‘40s”.
To me, this is a good thing, and a sign that positive change is in the offing (as per Howe and Strauss, “The Fourth Turning” c. 1997).
"The Obama administration has exacerbated the banks' ability to recover by imposing excessive and likely unconstitutional regulation."
should that not be, "the banks INability to recover"?
“What America had, however, was an industrial base that was up to the task of becoming “an arsenal for democracy.” Today our manufacturing base has been hollowed out with much of it outsourced to other nations or harmed by unions, excessive regulation, and trade policies that left them at a disadvantage.”
This is not true.
Our manufacturing sector produced $1.855 Trillion in 2010 with 12.5 million workers. The number of manufacturing workers keeps decreasing while the output keeps increasing. We are able to produce more with less workers.
Rudyard Kipling saw all this a century ago:
...
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
You are correct, Ron. Either he forgot to add the “in”, or he meant PREVENTING the banks’ ability to recover. Either way, it passed editing ...
China produces more steel than the rest of the world COMBINED. You are an idiot and a liar.
“The U.S. debt is historic $15 trillion and climbing”
When you add the $16 trillion the Federal Reserve gave away to the banks here and in Europe and without Congressional approval then our actual debt is more like $32 trillion!
“The Looting Of America: The Federal Reserve Made $16 Trillion In Secret Loans To Their Bankster Friends And The Media Is Ignoring The Eye-Popping Corruption That Has Been Uncovered”
Kipling was a prophet, for sure. thanks for posting his awesome prose.
Wow, thanks for that important link. Unbelievable.
I’m in the process of memorizing it ... six verses down, four to go.
ha, good for you. Good words to know and live by....
Steel is not nearly as important as it used to be.
It has mostly been replaced by other materials like concrete, aluminium, plastics, etc...
We produce aircraft, gas turbines, locomotives, tractors, machine tools, cars, petroleum, natural gas, weapons, etc...
The problem is that the USA has the “feel” of the 1930’s Weimar Republic or the collapsing Roman Republic. We are just one “Man on Horseback” away from a authoritarian government - and I’d probably vote for him if he was an American Nationalist (instead being a multi-culti pansy fascist like most Democrats).
That worries me a bit.
What is it about our dire situation that the mainstream media understands? We need more information on the Sandusky trial, more sports coverage? The country is headed to ruin.
Not to worry, since the economy is so bad illegal immigration is no longer a problem.
