Obama's Immigration Policy is Wrong
The Texas Tribune ^ | June 25, 2012 | TX State Rep. Jose Aliseda

I am a legal immigrant to this country. My parents and I followed the law, waited in line and did things the right way at a cost of significant time and treasure.

Suppose for a moment that you are the victim of a theft of a substantial amount of money. Let’s suppose further that you know who the perpetrators are. They are your neighbors, a mother and/or father criminal team, who have used and are continuing to use their ill-gotten gains to build a home next to yours and provide their children with a nice lifestyle. You go to law enforcement expecting swift justice and the recovery of your money, only to be told that your money will never be recovered because it might harm the children of the perpetrators, who through no fault of their own are enjoying the fruits of their parents' crimes.

Perfect!

I appreciate Mr. Aliseda’s taking the time to publish this, but it’s nothing but a gesture at this point. Too little, and way too late.

Contrary to the MSM, Hispanics are not monolithic! They too are just as much effected by illegal immigration.

I’m afraid it will only get worse before it gets better. The GOP sounds like they’ve capitulated.

Bravo to Mr. Aliseda. Legal immigrants should be angriest about illegal immigration, since they (the legal immigrants) have paid the fees, filled out the forms, waited their turn, jumped through the hoops, etc., etc., only to have illegals jump the line and be coddled.

Why is it that only immigrants or first generation Americans speak about this? All Americans have a stake.

My husband, too. Married in the USA. We lived abroad and went through the legal channels to for him to be a legal immigrant. Now a citizen. I actually had a brother accuse me of being anti-immigrant. I just figure that being an Obama supporter fries your brain.

I never thought Hispanics are monolithic.

I just think that the political configuration of America today is such that the Hispanic community needs to find right-thinking Hispanics to lead them, just as the Black community needs to find right-thinking Blacks (like Allen West) to lead them.

In our current state of political reality, a white man of European descent simply cannot do the job for these minority communities. They won't be accepted no matter how sincere, or articulate, or incorruptable they are.

As I understand it, the few conservative Hispanic politicians that do exist are forced, willingly or otherwise, to toe the line as far as non-enforcement of our borders.

Open borders are fine if we don't have a welfare state, as was the case until FDR. As soon as America became a welfare state, open borders became sentence of slow death.

Democracies can be destroyed by demographic warfare.
