He doesn’t have the conservative instincts of Palin or even Gingrich. This is going to be a very looonnngggg campaign season!
That’s the key, he doesn’t have the conservative core/instincts, he’s similar to GWB in that respect, he’s going to have be forced to the right. It is going to be a long campaign, but I’ll vote Romney, the alternative is disastrous.
He has to think “opposite” on everything, which is discombobulating for a person, so he will be extraordinarily dependent on instructors to give him his “current” positions during the campaign.
It will be awhile before he can fake thinking on his feet.
