Northern Territory police are focusing the search for a man wanted over a decapitation murder in New South Wales on Darwin's rural area.
More than 100 officers searched the outskirts of Darwin overnight for Jonathon Andrew Stenberg.
The 46-year-old is wanted in relation to the murder of a man on the New South Wales north coast on Thursday.
It has been reported that Stenberg beheaded 54-year-old Edward 'Ned' James Kelly at Broadwater, about 25 kilometres south of Ballina.
Mr Stenberg's car was found near the Cox Peninsula Road yesterday.
Darwin's rural area has been in lockdown ever since, but last night residents were allowed to return home.
There will be an extra police presence in Darwin's rural area as the search continues today.
Police say Mr Stenberg is armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
...There can be only one.....and if it was a returned Ned Kelly from the grave...Stenberg done good.

I don’t know, but “Jonathan Stenburg” sounds pretty Jewish to me.
He looks Anglo. Apparently, he has a military background, and recently served in the Middle East.
