Consider this. How "fine" would they be doing if they had to have their own military? Would they be able to "sustain themselves" if they had defense expenditures that provided half the protection that the U.S. gives them for free?

My guess is no. They'd either be a Russian satellite state by now, or they'd be bankrupt.

That they accept this largess from hard working Americans, and then whine because they aren't getting twice the vacation of those who are making their leisure possible comes across as a bit insolent.
