I was thinking that, too. For one thing, heavy smokers have lower rates of obesity, and we know there’s a terrible obesity epidemic among people too poor to purchase food.

And half the price of a pack of cigs is taxes, so they get a big chunk of the money back.

The problem with that is it takes to long and some people can smoke 10 packs a day and still make it to 90 years old!!

Rethink that one; the lung cancer kills slowly and Medicaid will pay for treatment all that time.
