No one can say Palm Beach County Tax Collector Anne Gannon lacks imagination. Perhaps she took the $11,000 seminar presented by the creative folks from Disney too much to heart. Maybe she has a Peter Pan complex and doesn’t want to grow up. Whatever the reason, her office has dreamed up the most cartoonish job titles conceivable.

I know Ann personally as she has presented at our local TEA party monthly meetings in Palm Beach County. She is a sober and serious public servant who described the efforts of the Palm Beach county commissioners to politicize the tax collectors office.
I am not sure but I would imagine these titles are an effort to bring a little levity to these few public servant roles where an MBA or CPA degree is essential for job performance.
If Ann Gannon is the enemy of the Palm Beach County commissioners then she should be given some slack. Those dudes are all crooks to the core.

I'm with you that the County Commissioners are not the beacons of integrity we need in Palm Beach County, and I can see this kind of thing in a private company, but seriously, it gives the impression that jobs are not being taken seriously in her office. It's the same reason we teach kids (or used to teach kids) to tuck in their shirts and wear a belt to school, because it needs to be treated as a serious endeavor, not a joke. It's a frame of mind. Fun is fun, but when it is on official documents, come on.
