Germany fiananced and facilitated the Bolsheviks at every step of the way to insure their success in undermining the war effort.
Pilsudski got a BIG assist from the Three Stooges: Voroshilov. Budenny and Stalin.
Not necessarily true. Brusilov’s offensive showed what properly led and armed russian troops could do. The basic problem was honoring the promise to the French in 1914 to invade Germany within 90 days of the commencement of hostilities. That rush to arms screwed the pooch [having your two armies led by guys who didn’t talk to each other didn’t help, either].
Germany delivered the Communist bacillus to Russia in a sealed train.
Putin is right that the Bolshviks were traitors. They were funded by Germany. However, Russia’s position in 1914 was imperialist. This should have been a campaign of retribution by the Austro-Hungarians against the Serbs, until lunatic Slavophile chimed in.
