I don’t recognize either of those names, so I assume not. The fire is burning on the western edge of Colorado Springs, on the north side of Hwy 24. The outlying neighborhood of Mountain Shadows is the one that appears to have burned last night. No one knows yet how many homes were burned because the dense smoke prevents an aerial reconnaissance.
The current evacuation area includes Chipita Park, Cascade, Crystola, Douglas Valley, Pinyon Canyon, Pine Clif, Pine Valley, Rockrimmon, Woodmen Valley, and Kissing Camels. The boundaries are everything west of I-25 and north of Garden of the Gods Road, up to the AF Academy.

As of this morning, we’ve got kids/grandkids within miles of the fires in Boulder and Fort Collins, youngest daughter/family has a burn going west of ‘em around Helena and there’s 18,000 acres going up in smoke north of Billings.
Sure hope those [BLEEP]ing environazis are proud of themselves.
BBL, everybody’s OK....so far....but Grandma’s got hot lines going practically around the clock and I’ve got to go make sure we’re wheels up just as soon as she hollers.
It’s about 15 miles north of me, and the winds are primarily to the north, with occasional shifts to the west (that’s what caused the huge increase in size yesterday and the breach of the firelines west of town). I’m currently in no danger from this fire; I’m just SW of town and the fire is moving N-NW. Thanks very much for your concern, sloop.

About 15 miles south of it, Clint, which puts me on the right side since it’s moving north. However, everyone in my wooded, foresty neighborhood has put important stuff in the car and we’re ready to leave if we have to. At present, though, we’re safe unless another fire starts and is south of us.
