It amazes me that a city with about the highest crime rate in the state, would cut the police department by around 30% and expect things to get better.
The citizens could probably get the state police in their streets in a hurry if they did just one thing, put posters up announcing for formation of a “vigilance committee”.
It would quickly be on the national news, of course to condemn it, but in this case, the Hollywood saying would be apropos. “Any publicity is good publicity”.
Nothing terrifies the pootwaddle out of government worse than the people doing government’s job for it, because it puts at risk their “phony baloney jobs”.
Not bad for just 200 xeroxed pages put up at night.
As an added benefit, even if the authorities still don’t respond, it will probably stimulate a lot of people to form a real vigilance committee.
