He exploits ignorance. Sure, 90% of the weapons seized in Mexico that can be traced have an American origin. What he fails to reveal is that that 95% of the guns in Mexico can't be traced! Lie number one. 90% of 5% is a minuscule number in the ongoing drug driven massacre in Mexico.

Lie number two : I am absolutely onvinced that in their tiny Machiavellian minds it was a great plan to create an excuse to impose additional restrictions on the Second Amendment rights of American Citizens. It blew up in their faces.

Can't find the link any more, but I read an analysis of that claim, and the majority of the traceable arms were "liberated" from the Mexican army by soldiers who went over to the other side, and took weapons with them. Those weapons were bought from US arms manufacturers, either by the Mexican government, or by the US government and given to Mexico. Those weapons are counted as "having an American origin".
