I didn’t trust Roberts when Bush selected him.
The Bush family has been the destruction of the Republican party. As much as Obama likes to blame Bush for everything, in a way, he’s got a point.
I used to kid my lefty friends when they’d bitch about George Bush: “I don’t know what you’re all complaining about, George Bush is the best Democrat the Republicans ever elected.”

There’s a reason Roberts was confirmed easily by the Senate Dems whereas they fought like hell against Alito. I guess this is the reason.
