ABC: 30 Seconds on Holder Contempt; Full Segment on Airport Baggage Auction
Breitbart ^ | 6/28/12 | staff

Breitbart News, monitoring ABC's World News with Diane Sawyer, has found the network's flagship news program gave less coverage to Congress's vote to hold a sitting Attorney General in contempt than the death of a "My Three Sons" actor and an auction program for lost airline luggage.

The program led with stories on the Supreme Court's ruling on the Affordable Care Act and wildfires in Colorado--stories of equal magnitude to AG Eric Holder being found in criminal and civil contempt. WN then covered SCOTUS striking down the Stolen Valor Act, a law which criminalized false claims of military service.

World News also devoted segments to a physical altercation between an airline employee and a passenger, the death of "My Three Sons" actor Don Grady, and an auction service for lost airline luggage.

The program's coverage of today's contempt vote lasted a total of thirty seconds:

Why, after so many years of pravda, are we still stunned or outraged or offended by this?

“Why, after so many years of pravda, are we still stunned or outraged or offended by this?”

Well, today you can log on to the REAL Pravda in English and get accurate US news, thus bypassing the American MSM. People don’t pay them much attention anymore;)

Today was a dumb day to schedule the contempt vote. IT should have been schedule for next week to move the conptempt vote away from the Supreme Court decision.

The Dems, including one who just appeared on Hannity, are calling the F&F investigation and Rep. Darrell Issa...stupid. They say going after Holder is just a witch hunt. They claim that all of this is insignificant. The lives lost (our Border Patrol Agent and hundreds of Mexicans) mean nothing to them. They don't feel any answers are necessary...yet, obviously, there is something important enough to warrant Obama claiming Executive Privilege over the information not released. And, if it is so "stupid," why cloak it under a wrongful Executive Privilege order?

So, if they won't tell us the who knew what and when they knew it, and if they don't feel anyone in the Obama administration should bear any responsibility for the outcome of the program gone wrong...then...

Will they please tell us why it was implemented in the first place? We have our suspicions, but not one of the involved parties has given a legitimate reason for this program even being used...let alone how it became abused, and how the criminals in the drug cartels ended up with our guns because no one responsible for the program kept track of what was happening. But, they will never admit to why they even initiated such a program...that, of course, would be political suicide.

So they want Americans to ignore all of it. We are not entitled to know the true "why" of the program...nor who was responsible for the tragic outcome. I bet Nixon would have liked the same cloak of darkness flung over Watergate, and no one even died then.

I’m surprised ABC didn’t celebrated Obamacare the whole half hour they’re on.

In an equally momentous decision, the SCOTUS ruled in the Stolen Valor Act that it is a First Amendment right to lie. Just think of the implications - lying on your income tax return is a First Amendment right; lying in court is a First Amendment right; lying to your mate is a First Amendment right; etc.

Boy, those justices sure are smart people./

Actually no; that [lying to the IRS] would be fraud.

Your fraud is my First Amendment right, as affirmed by the SCOTUS. There is no longer any compulsion to be truthful.

By that same supreme court, there is also no compulsion for the government to follow the Constitution. Rather "constitutionality" is some arbitrary attribute that the that court pulls outta their asses and slaps on things to make them "legit."
