Perhaps you could explain your Nineveh reference for the people who don’t understand it...

Maybe even 50... why couldn’t a VP Ryan break the tie from reconciliation.

The battle to defeat Evil on earth can NEVER be won by "good" men--they have no real power to overcome it because All men are evil--some just more so than others.

The only "goodness" we have comes from the grace God poured out for us in the blood of Christ--and He does not need us to "help" Him win the battle against Evil. IT IS FINISHED!

What remains for us is to use the wisdom God gives us to decide which person will best govern us in the kingdom of THIS world, and that rules out any hope of a "perfect" candidate.

So, please--vote!--and keep Obama from being elected by default

No arrogance like religious arrogance...”

“Pops does seem to be full of his view of himself as THE man of God and all alone. All he really is, is a quitter.

I can’t remember his name, but there was a prophet in the bible who ran and hide in a caves, believing he was the last man of God. God then told him he was wrong. There were thousands who hadn’t bent their knee to ba’al.

Sound like anyone we know? But I wouldn’t compared him to a biblical prophet.”

I happen to be a woman. (POPs= parachutist over 40.) I have been actively interceding for our country since the 1980s, pretty much daily. God wants us to repent, but we don’t, so we get Romney or Obama, virtually the same thing. With refusing to repent, we’re getting judgement whether under Romney or Obama. I won’t vote for a slightly lighter shade of evil, period.

Then you’ve quite. You’ve given up on the belief that anything can turn around and accepted this horrible world you see. You’ve given up on believing God can turn things around and you’re just waiting to die. Remember that God said the race is to those who finish the race.

Well, I’ll go with my brothers and sisters on FR that still want to fight. This may be a fight we can’t win. But I would rather fight a hopeless battle, and even make mistakes in the fight, than surrender. You talk about repentance. Most of us do repent. We also stand against sin every day. I’ve lost count of the number of times I discuss the selfishness of abortion. But all we can do is the best we can do. And trust God with the rest. We trust God to take what effort we give and do something great. It may be that this nation is doomed to a slow death. The bible said that in the last days, it would be as in the days of Noah.

You aren’t the only person disappointed in Romney. I felt like throwing up. I often use the joke about three men walk into a bar. A business man, a liberal, and a conservative. the bar tender says, “Hello Mitt.”
If you have a better plan to serve this country, I’d love to hear it. I almost threw up my hands too and said, “Go ahead and reelect Obama.” But I won’t quit doing what I can. Right now, that means pinching my nose for Romney, and voting to primary him in 2016.

If it helps, think of it this way. All of the liberals and far lefty's hate Romney so he must be doing something right. Also, if you think he was so easily swayed to left in the Communist Land of Massachusetts, think how easily he can be pulled to the right because he has to count on the conservative vote in order to be elected and then reelected. The libs aren't going to support him at all. They hate him. With a Republican house and hopefully Senate, we can do wonders with the Kenyan in chief gone. But with only a possible slim majority in the Senate, Congress could never override the Obama veto. I do not believe for one instance Romney would veto Tea Party and Republican driven legislation to repeal Obamacare and to pass a more conservative friendly agenda. With 4 more years of Obama, we would more then likely never see Obamacare overturned.

The things I’d like to post in response to that would probably get me permanently banded here. I’m not a Lemming and I’m not looking at the ceiling thinking “it’s for England.”

It’s a shame that “a RINO President Romney” will end up as a major disappointment to all non-leftists, everywhere, and for four years, if not up to eight years.

You'll stand strong and supposedly principled against Romney, but reap the benefits we low lives give you by our voting Obama out. A way to have your cake and eat it too. I see you quoting scripture, my beliefs don't allow me to act that way.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

If you need the short bus version, you can find it in the NIV edition.

I don’t expect to reap any benefits. I will not violate my conscience. I will have to stand before God. I will not apologize for being a lemming and not repenting.

A person supposedly of God who wishes to repent asks me, “If I need the short bus version.”

I happen to have a child with special needs, do you think God supports your low class, uninformed comments, regardless of how much of the bible you’ve memorized?

Sometimes people need hyperbole to get it. You don’t, and won’t. I’ve lived all over the world. Not feeding the Romney troll anymore.

“I've lived all over the world.”

Soooo? ("Worldly" does not equal "Intelligent" if that's what you're implying.) And there are plenty of other examples of hyperbole then ones that make fun of little kids, especially by someone quoting the bible in every other sentence.

Oh, that was clever. I misspell quit on an important topic like not quitting, and the spelling is what you focus on.

Go ahead and quit. Real Americans and Christians will keep fighting for their country.

Both sides will respond that the supreme court said it is tantamount to a tax, but that the law clearly states it is a mandate. That will allow them to claim they need a super majority to repeal it. If you read the ruling, Roberts was careful to state that regardless of how the law was looked at it could be seen as a tax - not that it was a tax or was intended as a tax, because it wasn’t; just that it can be seen as a tax by the court, collected by the IRS, but not treated as a tax by the IRS.

This gives both sides cover - the dems can claim this so they can obstruct, while the repubs can claim the same in order to be the typical squishes that they are.

Anybody watching the fiasco that is the supreme court this last week can tell what they are doing. They want it both ways; first states aren’t sovereign (AZ law ruling), now they are (ACA ruling).

Part of Roberts’ ACA opinion:

“Indeed, amicus’s earlier observation that the Code requires assessable penalties to be assessed and collected “in the same manner as taxes” makes little sense if assessable penalties are themselves taxes. In light of the Code’s consistent distinction between the terms “tax” and “assessable penalty,” we must accept the Government’s interpretation: §6201(a) instructs the Secretary that his authority to assess taxes includes the authority to assess penalties, but it does not equate assessable penalties to taxes for other purposes.

The Affordable Care Act does not require that the penalty for failing to comply with the individual mandate be treated as a tax for purposes of the Anti-Injunction Act. The Anti-Injunction Act therefore does not apply to this suit, and we may proceed to the merits.”
