The Supreme Court's ruling in Obamacare v. the United States of America is yet another body blow to the U.S. Constitution's principle of limited government and the freedom tradition, but there is a major upside.
Despite President Obama's opposition to an individual mandate when he was debating Hillary Clinton during the Democratic presidential primaries and despite his postelection insistence that Obamacare's mandate does not constitute a tax, his lawyers insisted otherwise, and the Supreme Court bought it. So we have a law with enormous reach -- one-seventh to one-sixth of the economy -- having been fundamentally misrepresented to the American people from the beginning.

If Republicans repeal this they have to replace it with a real solution to drive the costs down. If they don’t replace it with something - anything - they will hammer us as not having a plan.
There is no other choice.
Mr. RomneyCARE cannot defend Americans
from HIS OWN socialized medicine by DEATH PANEL,
so Mr. RomneyCARE does what he does best,
collecting money, and hiding and attacking conservatives
through surrogates.
WHERE IS THE VOCAL CONSERVATIVE AGAINST OBAMACARE
AND ROMNEYCARE AND HILLARYCARE AND STATISM?
And another non-post from the non-thinker. Do you ever get tired of your little rote mantras? Do you ever actually THINK?
He'll say he had to pass it to see what was in it.
I, for one, am looking forward to again getting on the bus and going to that Den of Iniquity we call our Nation’s Capitol, and lend my presence to the protest
The OP hates summer weather but for a good cause, no problem.
not only is it a big tax, it is Obama’s tax. He owns it. He can’t blame Bush or anyone else for this one, although I wouldn’t put it past him, of course.
Yeah, and I wish him luck with that.
I think the outcome of this may be a huge republican victory in November in a lot of races.
+1
Repetition does not enhance your position. The only way Obamacare gets repealed is for the GOP to hold both houses and the presidency. This type of diatribe is not helpful.
He won't have to say a thing, he won, we lost. Like the traitor Roberts said, they are not there to protect the citizen from the consequences of elections,
Nor is he there to uphold the Constitution I guess.
Traitor
You list a number of choices that have nothing to do with my response. Romney may be the only other choice we have this November, but given the man’s track record I have no faith that he means anything he says. So, to place your hope in him, when he has already changed his tune, is a waste of time. Congress may get it done, we’ll see. But, in the meantime we all better get used to living with a boot on our backs.
I agree completely, and it is obvious that a number of steps can be taken that would improve out health system dramatically. For starters, why didn’t the morons who conceived this monstrosity make any provisions for more health care professionals, as well as hospital beds, when they intended to dump millions more patients into the system? We’ll see if the Republicans have the will, and the imagination, to come up with a better plan.
Agreed, however my point is that Romney is already changing his tune. He has gone from saying he would exempt every American from this law on his first day in office, to now saying he will “fix each provision” one at a time. But no details on his “fix”. This guy is up to his old tricks, saying whatever it takes, and who knows what he will actually do. I will hold my nose and vote for him, but truly as the lesser of two evils.
You said Mitt had flip flopped so much you didn’t know which Mitt would show up. I agree. But that means that he’s twice as reliable as Obama, who has shown he’ll ALWAYS show up on the wrong side. Hence, there is no choice. It’s Mitt.
I think though that we will see MR behave better than many here seem to think he will.
