But Obama said.....
Fines will rise, and rise, and rise, and rise, and a bureacracy will grow up around it. Think I.R.S. for “healthcare fine enforcement, think fines levied and amassing, think prison and your property being seized if you fall behind on your fines for any reason.
Think the USPS and what a smashing success that government venture has been; it’s broke and rates keep rising.
If you drive a car, Ill tax the street,
If you try to sit, Ill tax your seat.
If you get too cold, Ill tax the heat,
If you take a walk, Ill tax your feet.
If you do nothing, I’ll tax your conceit....that you are not my slave by deceit
(With apologies to the Beatles)
yes
So lets see...............we now have a dependent who has a free cell phone, free minutes, free food stamps, free welfare, free internet service, free drugs for the addicted, free rent if you are in an apartment, free housing if you are luck enough to live in a state like NJ who are going to give the forclosures to these dependent, drug addicts, mentally ill and sex offenders right out of jail, we now have free healthcare for those who watch 1-800 lawywer during the day and the despicable Maury povich show. What next? free cars and gas to look for employment that is not there and they are not interested in? Obamas army
There is little to no rational thought in washington when it comes to many issues Healthcare being among them. To be honest i suspect this is due to the people who domminate the town and are payed to lobbie for directions, programs and spending that benefit the indistrys & companys that pay them.
Frankly speaking when it comes to the matter of healthcare, the primary reason for the rise in the cost of healthcare has been the advent of health insurance.
This should be obviously to anyone who knows anything about human nature. If you shield someone from the costs(financial or otherwise) of their actions they will act liberally.
This is not to say that the thousands of other things the Government has done to the industry haven’t also significant added to the cost of the service. Frankly anything extra you require of a system will add cost to that system(nothing is free) and any system in competitiveness will already tend toward maximum efficiency within the scope of its goals less it be driven out of business by those that do better.
Thus if any given change had to be mandated by government it is almost certainly to the effect of reducing efficiency, or just as offend adding a new service not demanded by the market, either way your increasing costs.
