I worked with admin clerks (secretaries) by virtue of the fact that they were unit/division/branch, etc secretary they had wider across the board access then I did. The nature of the job grants the access not the rank! I really don't think things have changed. I imagine his management was stuck with the little narcissistic twerp who was gaily Being-All-He-Could-Be-In-The-Army. I read that he was a management handful, his superiors likely just tried to keep their heads down, they knew that if they tried to really get him under “discipline” they would have a “Gay Rights Sh&t Storm” on their hands, not a good thing to have on your record come promotion time in today's all Action Army (or any service!). The concern for being properly “PC” makes the leadership/management jobs orders of magnitudes harder if not impossible. I know a lot of “key board commandos” here on FR will beat their chest and say they would stick to their principles come what may. Ok good but I bet if they were in such a position reality would be much different. Managers in the military & the fed are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Remember our “elected representatives” have decreed this particular abnormal is normal. John Q Public has betrayed these leaders and managers by keeping these”elected representatives” clowns in office. The brass is just trying to implement the impossible.(yes there is some betrayal by the brass here but not as much as you think!).
