Discipline Decided In North Central Cheating Scandal
1 Teacher Resigns, 5 Others Suspended Without Pay

INDIANAPOLIS -- Disciplinary action has been decided for the six North Central High School biology teachers involved in an ISTEP cheating scandal.

The Washington Township School District and the Indiana Department of Education conducted an investigation that found that a North Central biology teacher took extensive handwritten notes on the test's questions while students completed the online exam in 2009 and 2010.

"Teacher A" shared the typed document with four other biology teachers at the school, one of whom requested an electronic copy and shared it with his or her spouse, who is an administrator for another central Indiana school district, the report said.

This was all predicted. The assault on education from the Daniels administration including under funding schools, merit based pay, and threats to remove teachers placed in impossible classroom situations are among many of the poor ideas that have occurred.
