For three blissful days earlier this month, Raquel, a housekeeper living in Lynn, thought President Obamas recent announcement on immigration would solve all her problems.
Raquel was 4 when her parents brought her to the United States from Mexico; she has lived in America, undocumented, for more than a quarter-century.
But in the office of her immigration attorney, Jeffrey B. Rubin, Raquels hopes were dashed: She had turned 31 at the end of April. The presidential measure applies only to those under the age of 30 who came to this country when they were 16 or younger. She missed eligibility by less than two months.
It gets me angry, because why didnt he do this since the beginning [of his term]? said Raquel, who asked to be identified by her middle name because she fears deportation. I know that [Obama] is helping . . . but unfortunately, he has moved his game pieces too late for some of us.
Raquel thinks about where she would be now if Obama had pushed through the deferred action plan years ago.
But there is also a flip side of the eligibility constraints: Young people who arrived in the United States after they turned 16, too late to reap the benefits of the policy. They argue that while they may not have been a child when they arrived in American borders, they were still constrained by their parents decisions.
Vinicius Quirino, 26, came to the United States from Brazil just after he turned 17. When he first heard the announcement earlier this month, he said, he immediately felt joy for friends who would benefit from a work permit and a reprieve from the threat of deportation, but bemoaned his parents bad timing.

She’ll just use her other ID and problem solved. It was just a little mistake. There are no 30-35 year old illegals living in this country any longer. And how do you document when you sneaked in? Landlord’s letter?
Sorry Rachel.
Everything was just hunky-dory ‘til 0bama got ‘selected’, wasn’t it?
Who did you and all your friends vote for Rachel?
Think about it Rachel.
Being thrown under the bus really hurts by someone you thought you could trust.
Maybe all your illegal friends better think twice about voting for this known liar next election.
You see Republicans don’t dislike immigrants. They just want a solution to a sticky situation without causing any problems for the rest of the country and not cause a divide among all the peoplejust for votes.
As you can now see how 0bama is treating Americansyou too will be in the same boat after he gets what he wants. You may be free for a little while but one day you would be like all the rest of usunder the thumb of the same type of dick-tater you run from. The same type of country you run from. The same type of living you run from because they are ‘CHANGING’ the American dream in the long run.
So try living in Mexico for a while. Get all the people together and change your own country first. Maybe one day you’ll have millions of Americans trying to get into Mexicobecause America will be the new Mexico with all the same old bad.
America will no longer be the only shining light of freedom in the world.
Buh bye
More lawlessness from the Obama/Roberts regime.
I believe these illegals missed a cut-off point rather than a deadline. So sad. But you can bet Obama will revise the time frame cut-offs if he gets another four years.
When do you think the law suits will start? Different classes of illegal aliens under the law is unconstitutional.Certainly La Raza and Mecha are aware of the concept of equal protection under the law.

Raquel, there is always the age old solution to your problem:
Move to the Boca Raton area into a condo across the street from Century Village. Find a lonely Jewish widower with a bad heart. Marry him, get your citizenship in order, then start having sex five times a day with him until he keels over.
Problem sovled . . .
How long before these illegals start claiming age discrimination and sue?
Isn’t that just a shame. Do I need a sarc tag?
Interesting. I hadn’t thought about that. You’re right.
