After filing Notices of Federal Tax Lien, the IRS must notify the affected taxpayers in writing, at their last known address, within five business days of the lien filings. However, as noted in previous audits, the IRS did not always follow its own internal guidelines for notifying taxpayer representatives of the filing of lien notices. Therefore, some taxpayers may have had their rights violated when the IRS did not notify their representatives of lien filings.

"Some"?

The IRS is the standing army the founders warned us against.

They have SWAT teams, heavy armament and tanks.

Hell, they may very well have fighter jets for all I know. I do know they theoretically have access to everything the military has.

TIGTA is the internal organization that audits and monitors the IRS. Be happy they’re there.

That said, any reduction in the size or complexity of the IRS has to the start with the tax code. A half page form with a flat tax could collect the same revenue in a more even (IHMO “fair”) manner and kickstart the elimination of 95% of the IRS in a few years.

No argument here, FReep friend! I was just making the cynical point that in any argument between a taxpayer and the IRS... well, you know...
