RALEIGH An override of Democratic Gov. Bev Perdues budget veto highlighted a day of votes in which the Republican-controlled General Assembly shot down the governors vetoes three times.
The General Assembly on Monday night voted to override Democratic Gov. Bev Perdues veto of the state budget bill, clearing the way for adjournment and allowing lawmakers to go home to campaign for the November 2012 general election.

And for some totally unrelated reason, the media pundits still call NC a swing state. I call it lazy pontification myself. Too many hob-knob cocktail parties are getting in the way of these people actually doing their job.
Saw a report last Saturday on FNC that showed the unemployment numbers for the US and maybe five other European countries. The first thing that came to mind was not how they compared but what was the formulas to calculate each.

If something isn't detected and celebrated in Manhattan, Hollywood or inside the D.C. beltway, the brie and chardonnay crowd dismiss it out of hand. Election night should be interesting.
It is interesting now the writer implies that the main effect and purpose of the override is to allow the republicans to campaign for re-election.

NC is rapidly becoming ‘enemy territory’ and the money for the “hail-to-the-king” production isn’t materializing. Going to be a hot, miserable couple of days in the Tarheel state for Obummer & his sycophants.
