Chavez: Venezuela to buy tanks from China

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says his government will buy amphibious tanks from China for its military.

Chavez isn't saying how many of the armored vehicles Venezuela intends to buy, but says the deal signed Tuesday calls for a Chinese company to begin delivering the tanks next year.

Does anyone know what model tanks Baby Huey is buying? Type 62 or 63, I suspect.

I looked up “Type 62” and got a reference to a Maybach, which is a kind of a tank.

Well the 62 is not amphibious so I would presume it to be the 63.
