I think that 168 grain Sierra match kings will get the job done just fine when the time comes.
Maybe I’m a marketers dream, but I bought a couple boxes of each caliber for collectable reasons... they are going in the case with the old Wanda’s and other odd ammo from the past.
Hornaday’s best marketing ploy to date. It’s not bad ammo, but the only real reason to buy it is the kickass box and label on the 12ga, 00 Buck.
The down side is that it’s a bit over priced and like a pet rock; once you have it you probably won’t need to be a repeat purchaser.
Now if Hornady wants to run bulk ammo specials...

Max Brooks in his Zombie Survival Guide presents the M1 Carbine as the optimum ant zombie weapon. It is light has good magazine capacity and is semi auto. He rates it ahead of the Ruger Mini 14 or Mini 30.

is that a real gun? can it really be fired off hand? won’t the gun end up in the middle of your forehead?

My favorite is the AR 57. Simple recoil operation (no gas tube) and uses the standard PS 90 mags (50 rounds each). Pair it with an FN 5.7 pistol that uses the same ammo and you have quite a system.
