If I held any property in Dubai, I'd be trying to unload it as fast as possible, at any price. You have an economy built on other people stopping by with their economies - that's unsustainable, mostly because you've nothing to back it up with - no big deep water port, no useful transfer points. No useful overland routes as well. You literally depend upon people stopping in and leaving boatloads of cash.

And we already know how well this works, as Dubai has already been bailed out by it's Arab neighbors. And it's set to be bailed out yet again, with probably a third bailout to follow along as well.

Massive amounts of cash to build monuments to hubris. And that story has been played out time and time again...and it never ends well.

The pyramids worked out well, still producing income from fools trying to figure out how and why. Hubris indeed.
