I'm afraid you're right. Either the prosecutor and the judge have decided Zimmerman has to be found guilty to avoid riots, or else they see getting him as career enhancers.

I remember hearing the figure of one million dollars at the time of the hearing--was that what Crump demanded?

Anyway the 8th amendment doesn't seem to apply ("excessive bail shall not be required"). Of course that is for the federal court system--I don't know if the Florida constitution has a similar provision.
