My circle of friends and acquaintances figured this out fairly early in the game.

We acquired restaurant-quality(or better) cooking, serving and dinnerware equipment; developed sources for superior raw materials and improved our skills to a point that surpasses any restaurant or bar within a 500-mile radius or maybe larger.

We have all eschewed restaurants and bars for each others' homes. There is political discussion, as well as other subjects over fine food, fine drink, fine cigars, fine pipe tobacco and cigarettes - just like in the days of the original American Revolution; which may very well get repeated.

Sorry about your agenda, Drango - it has been defeated by independence and ingenuity.

That is what we did in Delaware. In Virginia we believe in private property rights and the restaurant owners make their own decision in regard to permitting smoking or not.

We can always tell a Drango-type when they walk into one of our favorite establishments, they immediately start the fake coughing and hand waving. The really obnoxious ones are usually asked to leave. One really obnoxious Drango-type actually refused to leave when asked by both the manager and the owner who are both women....... but he got real timid when one of the guys who was sitting at a corner table got up and asked him to leave - that guy is about 6’6” and didn’t even have to show his badge.

In Virginia we know how to deal with the Drangos of the world - their statist, liberal ways are unwanted. Although I do sort of feel sorry for them, as they are all apparently illiterate because they are unable to read the signs that clearly state smoking is permitted.
