Mitt Romney: the wrong man for the Right
Daily Telegraph (UK) ^ | 8:46PM BST 09 Jul 2012 | Peter Foster

Posted on 07/09/2012 3:53:51 PM PDT by Olog-hai

He’s politically dumb and his campaign is run by amateurs. He doesn’t have a message and doesn’t know how to deliver a message. He’s a political letdown running on autopilot who needs to grab the controls. He’s a man whom only friends, relatives and fellow Mormons will ever love. And his name is Mitt Romney, Republican candidate for President of the United States.

These are stinging jabs. All were made in the past week and all share one surprising thing in common: they were delivered not from the Obama campaign’s Chicago attack machine, as you might expect, but in a succession of punches from the Right.

Conservative pundits and editorial columns, senior Republicans and two of the big beasts of the business world—Rupert Murdoch and the former talismanic chief executive of General Electric, Jack Welch—have all voiced serious misgivings about Romney’s ability to deliver victory in November. …

The primary charge against Romney is one of passivity. Those on the Right who believe that they have the economic arguments to kick-start the US economy—to make it “morning again in America” as the inspiring Ronald Reagan ad put it—find Romney’s apparent inability to seize the day maddening. It’s what explains not just the criticism, but the contemptuous tone. The Wall Street Journal charged last week that Romney appeared to want to “coast” to the White House by simply repeating (as the Romney campaign does, daily) that the Obama economy is failing. “Thanks, guys,” came the bitter payoff, “but Americans already know that.” …

The entire Romney thing is like a horrible, horrible nightmare. None of it makes sense, but it’s all terrifying.

Regardless, we’re stuck with numbnuts. The only thing a 3rd party banzai charge will get us is a 2nd Obama term.

I voted for Newt too. We lost. We move on, and ride the horse we’ve got.

The Kudlow quote proves beyond a reasonable doubt that Kudlow should stick to speculating for his listeners on the relative merits of investment in Amalgamated Veeblefritzers. Inc., and the like and leave the political commentary to folks who know what the hell they are talking about.

If you REALLY detest Mittler, prove it by voting against him as well as against Obozo. If not, give it a rest.

After you have voted for Mittler and thereby materially cooperated in the mass extermination of another 5 million innocent unborn babies, what kind of "Catholic" will you be. Clue: carefully review John Paul II's Catechism of the Catholic Church. Do you understand the concept of excommunication latae sententiae???

If Stalin had to run in a genuinely democratic election, would you really care whom he chose as a running mate? Christie is a New Jersey RINO who talks tough. Rubio has a promising career but would be destroyed by running with Romney, win, lose or draw. Choose Charles Manson as Romney's running mate. He did to Sharon Tate and Folger and others and to the LaBiancas what Mittler did to the babies and to American jobs. Manson did not specifically persecute the Roman Catholic Church and other pro-life churches as Mittler did with Romneycare.

If you simply MUST block your brain cells and vote for Mittler, PUHLEEEZE drop the silly pretension that being a Catholic justifies your decision to support an uberabortionlover and church persecutor. You may as well vote for Caligula, Nero or Diocletian.

“Romney .....until ten days ago was being universally cheered by our aide”???????????????? What the hell side is that??? Certainly not the CONSERVATIVE side after his primary campaign which was the most despicable pack of lies, slanders, character assassinations and libels ever seen in American politics and well you know it. Do you remember the carpetbombing of Rick Santorum just before the Illinois primary? We both are in Illinois. If you did not hear Mittler’s shameful performance in false advertising, you must be deaf.

The only thing a Romney vote by you or anyone else deluded into not recognizing Mittler as Obozo’s ideological twin will accomplish is Obozo II. That was a done deal when the ultra corrupt GOP-E bought and paid for Mittler’s primary campaign of lies, slanders, libels and character assassinations of the worthwhile candidates. BANZAI!!!!

The smart thing to do on the Bush-era tax cuts would be to make them permanent. Romney might do that; Obama never would. The smart thing to do on Obamacare would be to repeal it and return us to status quo ante. Romney might do that; Obama never would. Your choice in November is between someone who might, on occasion, do the right thing versus someone who never would.

‘Our side’ is guys like Limbaugh and conservative activist sites like RedState. Most of whom were clearly not for Romney in the primary. The past is the past in this campaign, and the reality is that either Romney or Obama will take the oath next January. It cannot be Obama.

My comments have nothing to do with satisfaction of Romney as the nominee, but simply the observations from a lot of experienced political minds commenting that the Romney campaign had been on the ball this late spring, hitting back hard on all the false attacks: Bain, his dog on the roof, etc, war on women, etc and quotes like the ‘private sector is fine’. For every attack, they had a quick and powerful counter attack. They were scoring points and doing damage.

The situation is far from ideal, but I am behind Romney now, and fighting to get as many constitutionally-minded conservatives in the Senate and House. We have to deal with the hand we have. Some here are going to sit out, or vote third party. I made that mistake once, and in 1992 we threw out a decent man for a lying scoundrel. I won’t do it again.
