My guess is that authorities don’t know who he is, and maybe the girl’s mother doesn’t either! Still it’s a sad end for a youngster, and so unnecessary. You just have to wonder with all the changes in use of force laws, when the criminals are going to get the idea that there is a real possibility of dying if you try to rob someone.
Two words - stupidity and arrogance. Having grown up been told that they're something special AND that they're owed because they're black and being dumb enough to believe it, they just can't comprehend that something bad could happen to them.
It’s not perfect, but I believe it correctly emphasizes “criminal” over “girl.”

Mom could have worked a little harder and gotten "Honeybear" in there. It's dissapointing to see her pass on such an easy win.
But even so, with a name like "Emani Shanquece Rikall Puckett" you don't need anything else to guess race, parentage or lack thereof, academic history and trajectory. The story we read is merely confirmation.
She was going to be the next Queen Latifah.
The chances that two white men recruited a 17-year-old black girl as their accomplice don't seem very strong...so I would guess that the other two invaders were black too.
If they do arrest Kevin like Emani's mother is demanding, that would send an even stronger signal to white folks than the arrest of George Zimmerman. He angered a would-be burglar by noticing him casing houses, and was charged with second-degree murder despite being wounded himself and having witnesses to substantiate parts of his story. Here you have someone whose dwelling was actually invaded and had someone pointing a gun at him and his girlfriend.
Arresting Kevin would really bring home the lesson Eric Holder has been trying to get across--in Obama's utopia, crackers have no rights that the authorities have to protect. It's payback time.

Al, Jesse, stand down. We'll call you if anything comes up. While you're resting, why not pay attention to the 500 or so African-Americans murdered in Chicago since Trayvon bought his last Skittle? Surely at least one was murdered by a Republican?
While we are on this dreadful subject, I smell drug involvement. Since she was killed in the commission of a criime, Emani Shanquece's erstwhile companions in crime should now be the objects of a murder warrant. They are the ones that Mom ought to be angry about.

They did not mention the race of the victim of the home invasion who shot the thug, but I bet he was White.
I can understand how a mother would feel this way, in private.
I would be looking at the men who took her along for a home invasion crime as her killers. I would be looking at me and our family to see how we wrong in raising a home invader. I would have mixed feelings of anger at her, sorrow for her death, and shame and fury at myself and her dad and her little thug friends in the hood.
Knowing what we know about the Black thug culture, if my daughter was acting as is protrayed in those photos, she would never see the light of day in that neighborhood. If her mom did not see her taking on the thug act and hanging out with thugs and halt it, she is either blind or evil.
If you love your children, you do not permit them to play thug in any way.
If someone knows how, screen caputure the pics from this video. If mommy dearest strikes gold and gets the victim charaged with murder for self defense, they will scrub these photos.
From the pictures in the youtube video up thread, her mother has absolutely NO EXCUSE for not knowing she was on the thug path to abuse and an early death. She should have taken action before her daughter was dead.

Kevin probably isn't rich living in a trailer. Maybe he owed them money for drugs and they decided to confiscate some of his things as collateral.
