BOSTON A Massachusetts man charged with plotting to fly remote-controlled model planes packed with explosives into the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol plans to plead guilty to two charges.
Thats according to court documents filed Tuesday by prosecutors and attorneys for Rezwan Ferdaus. Ferdaus is a Muslim-American from Ashland. He was arrested in September after federal employees posing as al-Qaida members delivered what he believed was 24 pounds of explosives.
In the documents, prosecutors and Ferdaus lawyers say they have entered a plea agreement and requested a hearing so Ferdaus can change his plea.
The documents say Ferdaus will plead guilty to attempting to provide material support to terrorists and attempting to damage and destroy federal buildings by means of an explosive. Prosecutors and defense attorneys have agreed to request a 17-year sentence.
Federal officials said the public was never in danger from the explosives.
A dynamite religion
I once lived in Franklin, next town over.
“Muslim-American”
No such animal.
Do you ever notice that many of these “terror plots” that the government purports to have foiled, would never have come to fruition anyway without the “aid” of the government operators?
“Counter-terrorism experts and model-aircraft enthusiasts said it would be nearly impossible to inflict large-scale damage of the kind Ferdaus allegedly envisioned using model plane because the aircraft are too small, cant carry enough explosives and are too difficult to fly.”
So-called counter-terrorism experts and model-aircraft enthusiasts continue their disinformation campaign of claiming that model aircraft are harmless and “too difficult to fly.”
Model aircraft enthusiasts are fearful that anti-terror restrictions will be placed on their hobby, but the fact is that model aircraft drones under precise GPS autopilot waypoint navigation control can be extremely dangerous.

And cheap.

“Sooooooo, you think the “terror plots” are nothing more than entrapment?”
No, I never said that. It just seems that the suspects in some of these “terror plots” are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. I recall a group of “militant” black guys down in Florida that were offered stuff from the Army-Navy store if they would blow up something in Chcago IIRC. These clowns couldn’t blow their noses yet it was billed as a great terror plot that was broken up.
Let’s be honest, when we hear of a terror plot we tend to assume jihadi types, I know I do. I would also think that they have the organization, plans and means to carry out whatever plot that they may have concocted on their own without having to use government supplied resources to execute it.
If one of those is broken up, that’s legitimately huge. But we haven’t heard about them. And maybe that’s a good thing; maybe the pressure is too great for them to form.
But these others are kind of like the headline that heralds that a drug distribution group is broken up after utilizing government supplied drugs.
BTW, we’re on the same side. Some of these suspects may be morons but stupidity is no defense, they got what they deserved.
