SEATAC, Wash. -- The mayor of Granite Falls, Wash. was arrested late Monday after allegedly shouting threats at a family member at Sea-Tac Airport.
Mayor Haroon Saleem was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence harassment, Granite Falls Police Chief Dennis Taylor confirmed.

He was elected mayor in 2009. Snonhomish County is quite liberal, so I guess they were trying to show 'inclusivelness' when they elected him. The dude actually owns a bar up in Granite Falls.

Granite Falls is the last place I would have expected Muzzies to show up much less be the mayor of. The city of Everett does have at least one mosque so maybe its not that unthinkable.
Kinda reminds me of when Muzzie first came to the US they decided to settle in North Dakota of all places and built the first mosque there. They show up in the most unexpected places.

Several years ago Cedar Rapids, IA had some flooding. In the news they mentioned that one of the first mosques in America was also flooded. I did some checking and found this.

I don’t know what prompted the immigration. The people I knew (second and third generations) were of Lebanese descent and, as I have indicated to you in a freepmail, were very Americanized and very successful.
And, as it happens, they were very conservative politically...as in Reagan conservatives, no kidding. They married locally pretty quickly and the father of the kids I knew was a local farmer. I was confirmed in the Lutheran church with one of the daughters, and competed alongside the oldest son in our five-time state champion shooting team.
I believe he went on to serve in the U.S. military (though I can’t remember the branch) and he is now a physician in Alaska where he moved because of the great hunting.
