NAACP welcomes top political figures, but Obama notably absent

An array of prominent political figures are converging on Houston this week for the NAACP's annual convention.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder spoke Tuesday, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney speaks Wednesday and Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled for Thursday. But one person is noticeably absent: President Obama himself.

Political experts say this is an indicator of just how confident the president is that the majority of black voters will go his way.

"Granted, the novelty and historic dimensions have faded," says political expert Mark Jones of Rice University, "but I believe the president feels the African-American community will turn out in force to elect him."

Indeed, polls show the president enjoys almost as much support among African-American voters now as he did four years ago. Still, if it's a close election, experts are keeping their eyes on a few key swing states like Florida, Ohio and Virginia -- states where a surge of African-American voters could make a difference for the president.

Attendees of the NAACP convention are determined to get as many voters out to the polls as possible. They're organizing and developing plans to...

Feeling neglected? Taken for granted? Like Barack would rather spend his time golfing and hanging out with George Clooney and other big-money types than with the people?

Actually, when Morgan Freeman say you’re not the first “Black President”....well then, you’re not black....and not invited.

How racist of them.

Black leaders are disgusted at his coming out of the closet on homosexual marriage. He’s not one of them. He’s a white Marxist.

“He’s a white Marxist.”

And they will settle for nothing less than a Black Marxist?

Sending Holder to speak before the NAACP had nothing to do with whether Obama wanted to go or not.

After being held in contempt of Congress, trotting Holder out to make a public appearance like this is their way of saying F You to the Republicans in the House and to the country generally.

It’s like brazenly spiking the prosecution of the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation.

They’re saying yes we’re lawless, and there is nothing you can do about it.

I think it’s a mutual understanding that it’s best if he doesn’t emphasize his alignment with blacks, politically, so as not to rile up the crackers. A no-brainer.

And Mitt Romney will, yet again, not have one of his best speaking performances, and Mitt will, probably, be interrupted, during his speech, anyways! How can Mitt Romney, truly, better himself, with his presence at the NAACP? This is despite Mitt being a leftist, RINO Republican! This is a lose-lose situation for Mitt Romney-attacked for coming and attacked if Mitt decided to not show up for this.

Why would “massa” need to visit the field-hands if he knows they arent going to run away?

This will cost him!

This time Obama will only get 97.99% of the black vote.

“Political experts say this is an indicator of just how confident the president is that the majority of black voters will go his way.”

Actually, we won’t be seeing Obama playing basketball up through the election either; he has to pretend that he is “white enough” to sucker white liberals into voting for him again. Unfortunately, so many have paid such a financial price for voting for him 4 years ago this probably won’t happen.

"Blacks should be ashamed of themselves at this point for worshipping this con man."

Are you kidding me? This is the group that supports Jessie, Al Dullton, Tawanda Browlie, Travon Martin, OJ and many, many others that don't deserve any support.

Do blacks not realize that Obama has destroyed their hopes for another black President for at least 50 years?

Obama is so bad, his economy is so awful that the next potential black candidate will remind voters of his terrible presidency.

No one, not whites, hispanics, Jews will ever elect another black candidate. With a potential black nominee, folks will say "No thanks, we've been there, done that. It stunk."

Think about it - wil we ever elect another peanut farmer President?
