I agree with his logic concerning the Citizen’s United ruling. I would support limits on campaign contributions if there were term limits. These incumbents are a bunch of hypocrites!! I respect McCain’s service to this country, but would he have been elected to Congress in the first place except that he gained wide name recognition when he came back from the Hanoi Hilton. There are plenty of people qualified to do his job.

Although this was a well written piece, it is really a defense of Sheldon Adelson; it does not address the question posed by the title. It is unfortunate, as exploring that set of motivations is a worthy investigation.

I don’t know why he’s surprised. Many Jews have turned their backs on God and Israel plenty of times throughout history. I’d say this is just another one of those times.

Later, after his father’s passing, when he achieved wealth and visited Israel for the first time, he wore his father’s shoes so they could create traces in the holy land.

I'm afraid Rabbi Schmuely Boteach is giving David Harris and his asinine organization, the National Jewish Democratic Council, much too much deference and respect for some imagined authority that they fortunately do not have. Neither Harris nor the NJDC can forbid any Republican candidates from taking anyone's money!
