Posted on 07/11/2012 4:49:57 PM PDT by kristinn
Under pressure to reveal where he is and what his ailments may be, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.s doctors released a statement Wednesday night saying he is being treated for a mood disorder.
But the statement is unlikely to dampen the speculation about the Illinois Democrats mystery medical ordeal, considering the statement gave few details.
The release, sent out by the lawmakers spokesman, did not identify his doctors name nor the facility at which he is being treated.
The statement read: Information regarding the Congressmans treatment is protected by federal law under the privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA). The name of the attending physician and treatment center will not be disclosed in order to protect his continuing privacy. His physician makes the following statement: The Congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residential treatment facility for a mood disorder. He is responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. In addition, the rumors about him being treated for alcohol or substance abuse is not true.
The surprise statement came after a day in which the drumbeat for Jackson to divulge more about his medical condition grew louder, as House Democratic leaders joined the call for him to inform voters and his colleagues about his unusual leave of absence.

Jesse Jackson IS a mood disorder.
Yes, marxist racial hatred is a “mood disorder”.
So is drug use. And stupidity. And political extortion. And lying.
Pick one from Column A and one from Column B, or all of the above.
So...these so-called “mood disorders” do they appear so quickly and at his age? “Booze or “drug” disorder, methinks.
Is he being treated for Tertiary Syphilis, AIDS? Anyone know?
I have said this before on other posts:
The wording of the medical reports strongly suggests a Schizophrenic disorder, possibly bipolar, and most probably bought on by stress of some sort, either drug, alcohol, or emotional.
“Clinically Crazy” and suffering “Severe Kleptomania Syndrome” are hardly a barrier to American blacks holding high elected office.
Just ask their constituents.
Maybe he sleeps with the fishes in Lake Michigan.
Best guess: He’s on suicide watch after a failed suicide attempt. But who really knows?
Perhaps he is in a bad mood, because he can’t get a freakin’ drink. But this, of course, is speculation.
1. Face a criminal investigation.
2. Check yourself into an undisclosed medical facility for undisclosed "medical reasons."
3. Continue collecting your paycheck at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer.
Heck, if Ted Kennedy knew it was this easy he would have lived to the age of 500.
I’m thinking maybe that Rod Blagojevich is talking and noone in the Democratic syndicate is willing to silence him. If JJ jr. is implicated in the Senate seat of Zero it could be huge.
Yeah, the alcohol and drug withdrawal make a dude real moody.
It’s sickening to read about this guy being a “lawmaker”.
I suspect some dirt is about to come out on him. He’s playing the crazy card in advance.
It seems like he has the right to keep his ailment disclosed.
I think this boy’s cheese has done slid off his cracker.
‘mood disorder’ = pissed off!
Homie done got dissed!
Not when he has been elected to serve and speak for the people. If he is a drug addict, remove him. Drugs ARE ILLEGAL. If he has a mental disorder, his decision making is impaired. This goes for any of these guys in DC, right or left.
Being a stupid, lazy Marxist is a mood disorder now. Who knew?
He’s in a bad mood because he’s out of crack.
He’s toast..he’s facing a tough primary, and she’s gonna win easily...now that key Dem leaders are saying he should tell all. If it’s really something BAD..look for him to resign, rather than spill the beans and lose the primary.
But we don’t know what the issue is. A mood dis-order can be cured with medication and/or counseling. If drug addicted it would depend what the drug is. Not all drugs are illegal. I’m no fan of the man’s politics but I do wish anyone the same rights under the law that I’m supposed to have.
He was a good looking kid, but this might have just taken him off the list for the first REALLY black president.
Caught something from his big boss barack?
Suffering from a fear of reality.
For whatever it is worth, I read on one of the FR threads a week or so back that JJ Jr. had some kind of surgery (stomach stapling?) for weight loss.
Whether this is fact, I do not know.
But, one of the unpleasant complications of weight loss surgery is excessive alcohol consumption, with addiction a possibility.
Who knows? This is just my speculation. We can hope that we will know, eventually.
Did anyone ever think that the health issues of an elected representative would be none of our business? As if we were mushrooms?
It sucks to be old, and have all one’s illusions about our republic shattered.
Mood Disorder...yeah right
If he was a white GOP....the media would not hesitate to tell us the “real condition”.
And, If it truly was a mental illness...we would have known about it weeks ago. There is much more sympathy for mental illness now than there was years ago
He may have successfully stopped excessive drinking, only to discover that it was covering up a bipolar disorder, and THAT then came out full-force.
I should note that I'm not a doctor, and am certainly not qualified to make a diagnosis like this. But, I watched a good friend go through exactly this scenario.
Someone else suggested that he might be in treatment for severe depression. I think that's also possible, and may have been the result of an intervention after something else triggered it.
HIPPA? What is that? Oh, they mean HIPAA . . .
Etymology: AS, mod, mind; L, dis + ordo, rank
a variety of conditions characterized by a disturbance in mood as the main feature. If mild and occasional, the feelings may be normal.
If more severe, they may be a sign of a major depressive disorder or dysthymic reaction or be symptomatic of a bipolar disorder. Other mood disorders may be caused by a general medical condition. Mood disorder is a DSM-IV term. Also called affective disorder.

Correct on the weight loss surgery.
I heard his affliction is called
Probably has Terminal Racism. Genetic disorder.
On the money. Here's the last paragraph buried in a long Washington Post article titled "Jesse Jackson Jr. being treated for mood disorder, his office says":
He has been under investigation by the House Ethics Committee in recent years over allegations that he improperly raised money for former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich (D) in an effort to win appointment to the Senate seat formerly held by President Obama. As part of a corruption investigation, Blagojevich was heard on a tape saying that Raghuveer Nayak, an associate of Jackson, had offered to pay $1.5 million to the governor if the congressman was appointed to the Senate. Nayak was arrested last month on unrelated fraud charges just days after Jacksons medical leave began.
I think he came down with Obammus Racialus followus of Jacsonisch bullenshizen..
Square does not fit in a round hole, he asked why..
Yep, he probably has a secret doctor in switzerland..
Well, geez! Give the guy a "mood ring" and tell him to keep checking it!
Hmmm, Dr. Kavorkian is deceased, did someone take over his practice? Maybe we could get some help for this poor man.
“It seems like he has the right to keep his ailment disclosed.”
I think he has every right to keep his ailment disclosed but first he would have to disclose it and then it will be automatically kept disclosed.
“I think this boys cheese has done slid off his cracker.”
THAAAT’S RAAACIST!!!!!!!!!!! In fact that is two or three different variations of racist...I think.
If anyone could grow up to hate his own daddy more than Barack Hussein Obama hates his absent father, it could be Jesse Jackson Junior.
