UT investigates professor's study on children with gay parents
The Austin American-Statesman ^ | 11 July, 2012 | Tara Merrigan

Allegations of scientific misconduct have prompted the University of Texas to investigate a professor's study that found adults with gay parents reported significantly different life experiences than the children of married, heterosexual biological parents.

The study, authored by associate professor of sociology Mark Regnerus, made a splash when it was published last month in the journal Social Science Research. It has since drawn criticism from scholars at UT and elsewhere.

Bucking the consensus of the past decade of scholarship that the sexual orientation of parents does not negatively affect children in consequential ways Regnerus found that adults with gay parents tended to report lower levels of success in economic and romantic pursuits and struggled more with mental health issues.

The university began the inquiry after New York City freelance writer Scott Rosensweig, who uses the byline Scott Rose and writes about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues for a blog called "The New Civil Rights Movement," sent a letter of complaint to UT President Bill Powers on June 21. In his letter, Rosensweig alleged that Regnerus had committed scientific misconduct because he had created "a study designed so as to be guaranteed to make gay people look bad, through means plainly fraudulent and defamatory." Rosensweig also pointed out that the study was funded by the conservative Witherspoon Institute and the Bradley Foundation, writing that Regnerus had taken "money from an anti-gay political organization for his study."

When the study tells the truth, kill the study and the people who performed the study.

Excerpt. More at the link. Seems the gay community doesn’t like the truth published.

“Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”.

Unless, that is, the homosexual recruiters can successfully suppress it.

Just as the blacks ignored the finding of Pat Moghahan about the collapse of the black family. Just as Catholics ignored the papal encyclical on birth control. Ideas have consequences; bad ideas have bad consequences.

This is like attacking a study of people who live among abandon land mines, vs people who live without abandon land mines. Okay, they knew the study would make abandon land mines look bad. So? They are bad. Are we not allowed to study bad things that we already know are bad?

Bucking the consensus

Bucking the "consensus" is what real science is all about, namely disproving accepted theories and then forming better ones. Quantum mechanics bucked the "consensus" of a Newtonian universe. The theory of a round Earth bucked the flat Earth consensus. Ad nauseum.

Use of the word "consensus" as argument for a scientific theory shows an utter ignorance of science. And that is exactly why so many politics driven "scientists" and "journalists" cling to the term...

Gay people can’t raise families, period. Gay people violate the laws of propogation of a species, they’re an anomoly that is a genetic dead end. Less than 1% of the population of the planet can identify themselves as being gay. The other 99% will watch that bloodline eliminate itself, with no help from heterosexuals.

This is so ludicrous. You don’t need academic studies to tell you that relationships characterized by unnatural sex acts are inherently disordered and unwholesome. Children deserve to be raised in normal, wholesome environments with normal wholesome people.

This is so funny...when I wrote my own dissertation at UT, A Sociological Study of Family Lineage from Genesis to the “F” Bomb, I started writing a chapter on the degeneration of the modern family starting in the ‘60’s with the immoral femi-nazi/drug crowd to the multi-fathered families of single mothers today, including the perversion of the definition the family unit. My liberal professors made me leave that chapter out of it. So just to piss them off I went back through the whole thing and started using Bible references, as well as other books in which modern archaeology has proven up Biblical historical lineage and it’s effect on social order. You should’ve heard the screeches and squawks. By that time I was so disgusted with the whole process and censorship, I was ready to quit, except I would’ve had to pay back the scholarship funds, and then I was determined not to let them win. Thanks for posting this. It gave me a rather perverted and smug chuckle and hope that truth wins out.
