Update (12:50 p.m. EDT): The entire batch of new evidence is available on Scribd now, Weiner points out via Twitter. So is a recording of the police and fire radio traffic from the night of the shooting, via the Orlando Sentinel.
Original: George Zimmerman was easygoing with police when they arrived at the scene of Trayvon Martin's shooting, but according to new evidence from the FBI, he was afraid for his life in the weeks after the shooting became national news and even tried to buy more guns. The new batch of evidence, which special prosecutor Angela Corey released Thursday, includes findings from the FBI's investigation into whether Zimmerman violated 17-year-old Martin's civil rights. The FBI interviewed gun shop owners, according to The Orlando Sentinel's Jeff Weiner, and Daralene Jones, of WFTV. One shop owner told the FBI Zimmerman had called and said "his life was in danger and he needs more guns." So far, though, it's unclear whether he actually bought them.
The evidence also includes an email exchange between Zimmerman and Sanford police chief Bill Lee, in which Zimmerman "praises the officer he had been working with," Weiner tweeted. The Sentinel's coverage notes that Tim Smith, the first officer on the scene of the shooting, told FBI investigators he found Zimmerman with his back wet and covered in grass stains, bleeding from his nose. That suggests Martin was on top during their fight -- a key piece of evidence in Zimmerman's self-defense claim. Smith quoted Zimmerman saying, "I was yelling for help but no one would help me."

So what. Umm how many death threats did he have?
Well, yes. The cops took his and he had a lot of ugly characters threatening him and his family.
I’d buy more (and bigger) guns and lots of ammo, too.
The SPD had taken his weeapon and Black Panthers were mobilizing outside the gate of the complex intimidating witnesses and Trayvon’s father was sporting his CRIP tattoo. I’d get a gun too.
Must have been that tragic boating accident on Lake Michigan last summer.
I hope Zimmerman has a good lawyer. He's going to need one, since the only things on his side are the facts and the evidence.
This item goes in the “well, DUH” category.
Some of the news coverage is quoting his comment about his life being in danger, and mentioning the date, without bothering to point out it was after the lynch mob started forming. I shouldn’t be surprised by that sort of MSM bias, but it still gets me.
Really?
I think he’s got good lawyer. The lawyer waved Zimmerman’s rights to a speedy trial to properly prepared to take apart the OBot government’s case, which should not be too hard to do. The lawyer stated back in May or in early June that he wanted to depose about 50 witnesses.
Does Trayvon’s father, a little league coach from Miami who was attending a convention in Orlando, have a CRIP tattoo?
Trayvon’s tattoo, that everyone was agast over, was of “praying hands” with the words “Nana” for his great-grandmother and “Cora Mae” for his grandmother.
Um, duh. I think I would run out and buy more guns too.How many threats did he have on his life at the time?
This isn't odd at all.
I don’t know how many guns GZ had, but let’s assume he had one. The cops took it, so then he had none. The hue and cry from the like of the Black Panthers went up, and he wanted to buy a gun. He has a brain.
This is bad for him?
Every gun owner should always own at least two guns. The first one for self defense. Then when it’s taken as evidence, you have another for self defense.
He was afraid for his and his family’s life. I don’t blame him. I would have fled the country if faced with what he was facing from the black pampers and the other sub-civilized tribal thugs.
Seems right to me. He was being threatened.
Trayvons father was sporting his CRIP tattoo: Story Here:
“One shop owner told the FBI Zimmerman had called and said “his life was in danger and he needs more guns.””
Hmmm...me thinks he should have gone to a gun show...
Thanks for the link. Zimmerman’s story just keeps getting ‘better and better’. The brazenness of the lies and deceptions is mind boggling.
He has a most terrible! lawyer!!
<>Does Trayvons father, a little league coach from Miami who was attending a convention in Orlando, have a CRIP tattoo?<>
That was a Masonic Lodge convention, right? the weekend that TM met his fate.
Well anyway you can read about his tattoo here:
and see his CRIP tattoo [CAT = Crippin All the Time] on his neck that he quickly scrubbed back in March when he knew that others would see it and know what it meant.
And he replaced it with another innocuous gang tattoo: the praying hands that Trayvon had and fool most people into thinking that they are religious.
If you are naive enough or want us to be naive enough to think that praying hands are so innocent then just google: “gang tattoos/praying hands” and get an education.
Thanks. Sounds like the Crip connection is open to speculation. Still odd he covered it up.
