You’re right; no pick can possibly please everyone. But I’m just saying that IMHO — for what that’s worth — Dr. Rice is not actually an asset to the ticket, because she basically echoes what we already have in Romney. I *would* like to see her in a cabinet position. But for the VP slot, I’d like to see someone really charismatic, who is either Hispanic, has strong ties to the Hispanic community, or has some other demographic that will actually deliver votes. The “unmarried intellectual black women” demographic is kinda small.
Why not choose Condi? Nothing changes, and she has no influence once elected other than an odd vote here or there.
It doesn’t give a conservative VP credentials for future races.

yea and Ronald Reagan was a democrat - everyone makes mistakes or changes their mind or wants a private life. The idea for 20 years was that the Lakers, Celtics 49ers etc. etc. often traded for people they did not “like” in order to WIN.

If I were Romeny, I’d use her as a “stalking” horse. Put her name out there, get the opposition working on their “she’s and Uncle-Tom” “She’s not a real black American”....blah blah blah....let them all get wired to de-blackify her and then at the last minute, go with the real choice. They won’t have enough time to switch the lie machine over.
I, for one, don’t have a problem with her. But I question “why her?”....I think it comes down to the fact that “she’s black” and maybe, just maybe we can get some of that black vote.
My assessment is the black electorate is racist first, when confronted with party, Democrat second. They have been brainwashed far too long to convert now with a simple color change on the Republican side. We need to write that vote off and stop pandering, if we are. Blacks who think beyond the Democrat plantation already know Obama is lowlife, and they will vote against him - we don’t have to pander.
Frankly, my view of her is that she is an elitist, whether he’s tried to convey that or not. Intellectually superior, but still tainted by the dumb sh!t Bush did in ignoring his domestic charge.
We can do better - there are plenty out there who can outdo Biden in a debate - hell my grand daughter would kick his dumb ass.
I looked upon a few internet sites, including Wikipedia, and all data shows that Condi Rice has never been married, and has no children.
Hence, I extend my apologies to all y’all for writing on this thread that Rice was married. That was a false statement on my part.
