Agree. They all know this is a trumped up non-issue and that Romney did nothing wrong, but facts are not appearances and that is what the Obama slime machine is counting on.
They are engaged in a "Big Lie" campaign. They can't defend Obama, so they are going to demonize Romney with lies and half-truths, just exactly as Alinsky instructed them to do.
Romney needs to come out swinging and his surrogates need to use derision to respond to these attacks .

Maybe these kinds of attacks will wake Romney up to the fact that he can’t, like McCain tried, just be the nice guy and win. Romney is going to have to take to kid gloves off and go after Obama, his policies, his legislation, his regulations.
